Sunsdr2 pro cat connection to SPE expert 1.3k fa version 3

I have cable made by the chap in Scotland, but problem getting the band data from sun to the spe amp.
I have seen one video with chap putting the spe in band data in the yard setting s.
But on my amp it does not have band data in the Yaesu setting. Band is in its own category, in cat settings.
Anybody got an idea so that I can get band data from the sunsdr2 pro to the spe 1.3k fa.

Select "BAND DATA" under "CAT" and it will be shown as "YAESU". Also remember that you need to set the RX and TX external control lines selection, and after you do, you need to turn the "P.A." button on.

Create virtual com ports in VSP software and control the amp with CAT.
All is found in the User Manual Addendum

Hi Rob, this is in the SPE setup. Just select "BAND DATA" (I have mine set to "KENWOOD" because I have another bridge device but for your cable, you should select "BAND DATA"):-

Hi Erik, yes - this is also possible and better in some ways. I built a bridge device in my case because I operate remotely. It would be helpful if you elaborated on the steps so others can follow what you did. For example:-

0. You need a USB to serial device to connect between your client PC and the SPE
1. Create a connector device in VSP which appears as a COM port
2. Enable CAT emulation in EESDR2 and assign it to the above COM port
... and so on.

This is more helpful for people who are new to all of this. Also, things are a little different in EESDR3 so if you can show your steps there, that will also be good.

The User Manual Addendum is a very good place for learning and setting up a radio and connections with various periferals and useful apps.
It is a must read for everyone with a SunSDR radio I think. :so_happy:
