With my soon-to-be-on-the-air status, I've been looking for logging software, especially one that supports TCI and my SunSDR2 DX.

I found that Log40M supports TCI as follows:

[NEW] Added TCI CAT support for rig control for Expert SDR devices
[NEW] Added TCI SPOT integration for Expert SDR devices
[NEW] Added TCI support on CW keyer management for Expert SDR devices (the keyer engine can be selected in the Program Settings – Hardware – CW Keyer interface)

I like the Log40M GUI, especially when compared to the dated offerings out there, plus, it's FREE.

Log4OM works fantastic with ESDR! And it’s an awesome logbok, try it!

As do 5M contest Also integrates extremally well with SDC client
LogHX and Swiss log which also support TCI

Speaking of SDC client just opened it and there as an update ( haven't seen or read on what area just yet)
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

Have switched on TCI on both eesdr2 and Log40 but no sign of data passing through them.
Would it be possible to assist me with a step by step guide.
Otherwise I might have to go the rs232 route.
I agree with you, log40 is excellent
Sorry to bother you but this would help me greatly.
Thank you

Hi,

most common mistake is configuring LOG4OM with the rig IP address instead of the computer IP Address (the computer on wich EESDR is running).
In addition, be aware og the "Default" TCI port. On EESDR2 it is 40001 but on EESDR3 it could be 50001. I suggest the old one 40001.
You can give a look at the following message where you can find some very basic setup printscreens.

See page 22 of our user guide

Make sure the port number in ESDR software and Log4OM are the same

Try clicking 'Start CAT' in the connect/CAT menu

Generally you should start ESDR and then Log4OM

Assuming you are running Log4OM on the same machine as you are running EESDR2/3, here's how you can set it up:-

This assumes that the TCI in EESDR2/3 is set to port 40001.

Note that sometimes running Log4OM can cause some audio glitches. I'm not sure this is because Log4OM is too resource intensive or that it is affecting the networking latency somehow.
