Just to add that if you are one who compiles JTDX, this can no longer with be done correctly with JTSDK 3.1.1 (unless by chance you had Boost installed) and you must upgrade to JTSDK 3.2.0.1 for versions 2.2.156 and 2.2.156-32A.

Also, the JTDX S-Meter now correctly functions, taking the measurement directly from ESDR2/3. You can switch between dBm and S units.

Have seen that a new version has arrived but have not had time to test yet.
Will try during the weekend, so it will be interesting to see how it works.

I saw on the JTDX group that there were problems with levels, is that okay now?

SA3ATF: This seems to depend on the radio you have and hence the version of ESDR2 that you are running. But JTDX has been optimized for ESDR3 and the amended TCI that new version has. So, if any issue with levels is found right now, hold off until you get ESDR3. Any problems then can be forwarded to the authors. For me, using ESDR2 and the MB1 + SunSDR2DX software, together with the 32 bit audio sample version of JTDX, the levels are perfectly fine.

Hi Erik,
I have the standard v2.2.156 working nicely by the looks (SunSDR2DX and SSDR 2 v1.3.1 up8) but you've now got me wondering if I should have installed the 32 bit audio version of JTDX..is there any advantage for me do you think?

Regards

Hi Paul. Good question. According to the JTDX author, the 32 bit sample size audio version takes advantage of the full dynamic range of our EE SDR radios and produces a slightly higher decode count on very congested bands (like 20mtrs when the decodes per period exceed 60). I extensively tested it against the usual version: 'slightly' is right, the difference seems minimal and averaged out at about 3 more per period over one hour. This test was when VAC was used so there may be a greater advantage now with TCI since TCI decoding is also better than VAC on very congested bands. So, I would say it is worth using the 32A version but it is by no means absolutely necessary. A lot of EE users have changed to 32A, by the way.

...very congested bands...
Like 6m pretty soon! Thanks Erik, I think I'll give it a try. BTW I know have an HA8ET LNA between RX Out and ADC In on my SunSDR2DX..just waiting for SSDR V3 so I can correct the Rx gain setting, but 6m receive is certainly improved. 73..

I was so eager to try this so I tested it at lunch and it seems to work perfectly on the first try.
It will be fun to DX during the weekend.

Thanks for this

Ok Arturo. You are unlucky but another user reported same thing. I spent 30 minutes trying to fix it via TeamViewer but failed so I do not know the reason. I will ask the JTDX author and I suggest you ask Roman at EE to see if he knows.

Hi Erik,
you are talking about 32 bits audio sample version of JTDX.
I just see a 32 bit and 64 bit Operating System versions...am I missing something?
