Erik!

Am I missing something? I dont have any button to switch between dBm and S units.
At 32bit audio version dBm numbers are still funny. Any idea?

My mistake.
SRI for post to quick...
But the numbers for the signal level are still bit strange.
Stay safe!

You stay safe too! What he has done is 'fill' between S units. So when it reads S8+3dB it is actually S8 and a half. I know, it is still strange. Personally, I think the S meter provides zero extra functionality - I enabled it only so I did not see a 'dead' button in the GUI. Call me mad, what can I tell you....

Arturo - if you still have this error, we would be grateful if you could help diagnose the cause so that it can be fixed. Please email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for instructions - we would like you to install a debug version of JTDX and send back a debug text file that is generated.

Thanks, Erik.

Anyone tried 2 instances of JTDX with TCI, one on RX1 and one on RX2?
My little brain just can't see how the two instances will know which Rx they should be on...there again, I don't really understand how TCI works.. :unknown:

It is not possible yet. I already raised this with EE. The software needs 2 TCI servers I believe, so that separate ports can be used to access TCI in ESDR2/3. Meanwhile, I have one instance on TCI and one on VAC. I do note that SDC can access the receivers separately but I presume this is something that Yuri has implemented which is not in JTDX. You could raise the issue with Roman as I did not get any concrete answer.

Thanks Erik. For the time being I'll do what you've done..and put the 2nd instance on VAC.

Eric, first time I installed the latest JTDX with TCI (Not the 32A version), I had the "TCI failed set RX frequency" error. But after I deleted this version and did a new install of the 32A version, all was fine. No issues what so ever now, working fb! But we do need a second TCI server for RX2 in the future :D

By the way, what audio input level should I aim for? when adjusting the RF gain slider? The scale was a little unfamiliar.

Hello Hans Christian

The 16 bit audio version is prone to a bad reaction to unusual Windows regional settings, which is not to say that was your cause but this was one reason just discovered. Anyone who gets the 'failed to set RX frequency' message should email me. It will be fixed in the next JTDX version but, since we have only just had rc156, I would think that is some time off.

The audio level is fixed and you should see circa 182dB in JTDX 32A TCI. If not, please say what is happening with your installation. I would likely not have any answer though because TCI is not going to be adjusted for ESDR2 now and we'll need to see how it is in ESDR3. EE and the JTDX development team have already proven ESDR3 TCI with JTDX so I would suppose there will not be any problems.

Hi
Will try to answer some questions.
Recommended is to set Data/Pkt modulation in JTDX ( this will set DIGU in esdr) and Rig Split ( this will reduce PTT reaction time)
Also DIGU TX filter needs to be set similar that USB has there.
In general both 16 and 32 bit audio versions have same decoding capability. 32 bit audio is preferred du to more dolerate setting of input gain.
In general esdr should be set AGC off, preamp on (+10dB) anf filter to jtdx waterfall width.
Now with RF slider set level so that strongest station signal has 178 or 80 dB jtdx input level (32/16 bit audio versions) It is safe to begin around 40 dB RF level.
this should be done for every band, esdr remembers settings.

esdr3 support will be from JTDX 157-rc1, there will be also support for RX2. Will try to keep backward compatibility also for esdr2.
Somehow currently TCI audio for RX2 does not go in esdr2, esdr3 is working good.

Regards,
Arvo ES1JA

Thank you for the information. It is the most clarity for JTDX/TCI set up we have received.

Erik
A question. I am using 1.3.1 update 9 with JTDX 2.2.156 and using SDC/TCI. Sometimes on TX the audio breaks, the power level drops to zero and stay till the end of the 15sec cycle. On a new cycle the audio is back to normal. Any ideas? Roman sdays my PC and software are good and up to the job.
