TOPIC: SDR3 and VSPE

SDR3 and VSPE 24 Sep 2021 00:56 #1

I now have SDR3 running with most things working OK. However, whilst there is a lot of discussion on TCI, what happened to the CAT facility using VSPE that works very well on SDR2 with my logging program, Turbolog 4. I cannot find anything about SDR3 and VSPE and I need that facility as Turbolog 4 does not have a TCI interface.Barry VK2BJ

Thank you S58WW. I have looked at the manual very quickly. It looks fairly complicated but I am sure that I can work my way through it.

It is not complicated at all.. Use VSPE pair in RIG emultor in TCI part of SDC. First COM port of your pair in SDC, second COM port off the pair in your logger.
Can not be more easy.
Get familiar with SDC. SKy is the limit....
If you need picture let me now or check other posts. It was mentioned before how to connect COM pair for CAT to TCI.

I'm attempting to set up SDC with SDR2 on my Dx.
I have watched the YouTube on SDC presented by Vasiliy and feel a lot better how the procedure to do this goes.
However, I cannot set up the Profiles.
I used the address found in the manual: C:/Users/tom/AppData/Local/Expert Electronics/ExpertSDR2 in an attempt to locate these files, but they are not under this path, in fact this path does not exist.
I have also searched on *.prfl in an attempt to locate the profiles, and nothing comes up.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you to everybody on this Forum. I now have SDR3 running OK and connected to my logging program via SDC. My only problems remaining are:L
l] The SunSDR2 DX regularly loses connection mid QSO. I know this is a known problem and is to be fixed
2} When SDR3 opens, it is in a pseudo full window so that the top part of the screen is hidden straight away . There is no X button available (as I cannot see the top right hand corner of the screen) and right clicking at the top of the screen does not enable the screen to be moved. However the task bar at the bottom is still fully visible until I change SDR3 to full screen mode.
Is this a bug that everyone else is experiencing ? It does not do this if I run SDR2.

Barry!
No that kind of problems here...
4 monitoes on my PC. I can move ESDR3 or SDC enywhere... More than 1000 QSOs since 0.9.0 Alpha was realesed. The only problem is that from time to time connection with RIG is lost. But never during QSO. It is still Alpha version of the software. I am sure that is gona be fixed. In digi mode JTDX and ESDR3 connected with TCI are working UFB. Did not lost any QSO yet. For Alpha version UFB software.
Be sure that your windows is error free. Check event log. Check TCI port umber. 50001 or 40001?
Any other aplication on your PC using the same port?

Hi Pibo
I did a lot of "messing" with my computer yesterday and the screen problem I had was obviously a bug in the computer which has now been fixed. So all is working well.
I used the rig for a few hours today in the Oceania contest connected to my contest logger, SD. I have had no lost connection whatsoever today so I have been very pleased. I suppose that now I need to buy the latest E-Coder so that I can monitor my own SSB transmission.
Thanks again for all your help.
