All --

When I turn on my radio (expert 2) I get a continous transmit of dits and dahs. This has happened before and reloading the software usually works. Now it isn't.. Any ideas?

1. Do you have anything connected to the key port?
2. Does this happen if your turn "BREAK-IN" off?
3. Does this happen if you're not in CW mode?

Sounds like your paddle or cable might have a short. Does it happen if you unplug your key/paddle?

Could be a mis configuration of a comport or RTS STR keyline in an application that is also starting with EESDR-

something like N1MM or another logger which has a key line?

are other applications starting when you start EESDR2? do you perhaps have options selected in the software to start other programs?
if so, close the other app - remove from starting, reboot and test again

There are no other pgms running that would be used with the Dx Transceiver.
The KEY when closed goes into transmit.
When the breakin in selected and jey is closed the Display freezes and a comp[lete Off / On is required for the display to start.

What kind of key are you using? Does this problem happen if your key is not plugged in?

Its a standard CW hand Key
I can't key the Tx if the Key is removed. However, when I removed the adapter It was a TS and not TRS. The adapters for PTT and CW were reversed.
Appears all is working correctly now when I use Breakin and CW Key.

Thanks for making me look!!!

Great! You may want to check the CW options and make sure that Iambic is not checked.

Yes, correct.
Nothing is checked and working as expected now.
I just can't remember when or why I would have changed those adapters?

Following the successful resolution, could I ask how your keys are connected to the radio? My radio (SunPro2 SDR) is at the far end of the garden and has about 80M (260') of ethernet in between it and me.

So wondered if your keys are plugged directly into the radio or are you using interfaces.

Direct connection in the rear KEY Jack.
SDR2 DX is on the desk in front of me.

I found that the two TRS & TS CW & PTT adapters were interchanged causing the problem. Reversed them back and all is OK.
