What else do I need to do to get my E-Coder2 working in Kubuntu 20.04?
See photo for settings.
The E-Coder2 works generally well in the

windows 11 environment on the same hardware.

I don't have an e-coder and don't run ubuntu, but I'd suspect that it could be a permissions issue. Check the ownership of the device file that's being created when the e-coder is plugged in, and add yourself to that group. If it's not creating a separate device file, you might want to be member of the plugdev group.

If you haven't already do it, add your operating system user to the "dialout" group.

By default Linux does not allow access to USB devices, to use them (including E-Coder) you need to enter the following lines when the system starts:
sudo chmod 664 /dev/hidraw*
sudo chgrp plugdev /dev/hidraw*

Thank you all!
I did use the method suggested by OK1RR and the particular entry of KC7MM in Romans link to the previous thread on this subject.
The E-Coder 2 is working perfectly now!
It also is persistent through restart!

I’m a complete newbie to Linux but I still got it done!!!
