Hi all I'm looking for any info about ESSB performance of SunSDR2 PRO.
1.Is it possible? (I expect yes )
2. is the audio characteristic flat ?
3.what is the maximum TX bandwidth?
4. How good/bad is it performing comparing to other rigs?
5. Preferred connection Mic1 or Mic2 or other ....
Audio/video sample highly appreciated.
Regards

ESSB works very good on SunSDR2 pro/ qrp :good: :music:
max. bandwith in SSB is 10kHz.

Hi Kevin,
Thank you very much for the info.
I have search internet for audio samples but unfortunately without success.
Couple videos on the Youtube demonstrate receiving audio but did not see any about transmitting audio.
So if you have some feel free to share :)
Best Regards
Pawel EI9HEB.

I'm currently using Kenwood TS870s and Audio Technica 2020 microphone.
I have sold nearly all of my external processing gear. And my plan is to get Sunsdr2 pro and EB 300HF amp.

That is a good decision. :so_happy:
You will not miss your Kenwood TS870s.
EB 300HF amp is also a good decision.
I just bought the board on Ebay and made the rest myself.

I just finished setting up my audio yesterday but have yet to try it on the air. EV RE320, Universal Audio DCS preamp, Behringer 9024 6-band compressor, into an RME ADI-2 Pro DAC. I will post the finished results of the radio config after I can put a bit more time into it. I look forward to checking into some of the ESSB and AM nets with this set up.
Current set up: SunSDR2 DX, HiFi audio, Alpha Delta DX-CC up 20 feet.

RME ADI-2 Pro DAC - that is very interesting how to do you feed the audio to sunsdr?

I select "PC Mic" on the mic selector:

The microphone and Behringer multi-band compressor I did buy just for using with the radio but the DAC I have as a result of being an audiophile and the preamp I have because my wife is a singer and I wanted something nice for her to record with too. I figure at this point, if I have them, might as well use them. I do operate the SunSDR2 remotely so plugging a mic directly into the radio is not an option for me. Currently the radio is set up in the basement, close to where the coax comes in and I am upstairs sitting in my office.

My audio settings on the rig now are as follows, I did not put any screenshot for any settings that I do not have enabled now.
Pre proc:

EQ:
2019-12-0316_55_31-Window.jpg

and I have DC block enabled too despite not needing that.
Current set up: SunSDR2 DX, HiFi audio, Alpha Delta DX-CC up 20 feet.

I have sold nearly all of my external processing gear couple years ago and kept only microphone Audio Technica 2020 and USB interface SCARLET 2i2.
All the processing I'm doing in the Ableton DAW software.
It is a way better solution as no RF is getting it to the shack and changes in the setting can be done with a simple mouse click, not like before hundred of knobs and menu levels.
New equipment can be added as plugins and loads of them are for free.
The only issue I had (still really have, I'm looking for a better solution )is how to feed to processed audio to SUNSDR2 DX.
Abelton DAW software is not routing the audio to windows.
Whatever processing I have is heard only in Scarlet 2i2 Monitor output.
Windows is getting only plain audio from scarlet 2i2 input.

I have found a temporary solution I'm processing on channel 1.
Then with cable jumper from out 1 of Scarlet, im feeding into the input 2 on scarlet, then the audio is being routed to windows from channel 2.
Will be nice if SUNSDR gets the balanced input or Toslink connection it would make the life much easier.

Hi,

Here is the configuration I am using : Focusrite solo and Ableton Live

AbletonStudioInputOutputConfiguration.png

I used the VAC cable as the output device in Ableton and VAC as the Sound card in EESDR.

Mic Selection is MIC PC, so the sound card input is used here.
