So, I've evolved to running all of my ESSB audio via a usb audio interface and a DAW. I originally was running a powerful custom PC and utilizing Cakewalk and voicemeter banana. It worked great, when it worked. I started to get major driver conflicts, formatted the hard drive, started from scratch and it would continue to happen.

I upgrade to an i9 27" iMac, 64gb of ram about a week ago. I'm now running Logic Pro and utilize a program called Loopback to route as much virtual audio as I want to as many applications as I want.

The sound is amazing and the performance of the iMac is going above and beyond. Also, V3 works flawless on the iMac as well.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks
Doug

Hello Doug,

I am going to use a Mac mini M1 with just 8gb of ram, is there enough ram to work with V3 or V2 ?

Hi David,

I wanted a Mac mini as well but was worried about compatibility issues with software and the m1 chip. I know people have gotten it to work, I just wanted zero compatibility issues with the software and the audio I’m running. I went as far as to pay for Logic Pro which is a fantastic DAW.

if you’re going to try the m1, I would go for 16gb of ram because if I’m correct, you can’t upgrade it once you buy it.

Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,

tks for your replay.

About compabilities I am not worried, I am a almost 100% CW operator so phone is not my worried.

Concerning to M1 I have to say that I have one on my own with just 8gb ram. Up to now is working great, lets see how it will handle with SunSDR2DX rig. In case of troubles I will have to sell this one and buy another one with 16gb.

Tks es best 73.

I am running expertSDR2 on a M1 iMac with 16G memory. All is well so far. Rig is SunSDR2 DX.
Running MacLogger DX, WSTJ-X and GridTracker as well.
LoopBack audio is great. I have been using it for years. AudioHijack is a great program as well if you want to record audio.

Hello Pascal.
Here is the instruction you can use for CAT and VAC, though I suggest to use third-party software with TCI support.
