Cant connect to SunSDR2x 29 Apr 2021 14:55 #1

Restarted 3 times:

1 Computer was off.
2. Turned on computer, entered PIN, waited for Menu.
3. Turned on SunSDR2 DX. Solid green light.
4. Started ExpertSDR2.
5. Clicked on/off button (top left).
5a. get "Cant connect to SunSDRDX"

I did # 5 several times.
Before restart 3, I reloaded the ExpertSDR2 software. Nothing changed.

Checked Options | Device SDR address and it is OK for my system.

Photos of my system.

Is it time to press the rest button on the back of the SunSDR2 DX ?

Please help. :o

Check that the network card is not locked at a certain data rate.
That was the fault for me and before I found it OMG :wall:

Good luck.

ANYDESK is remote aplication. A lot is writen about it on forum. Port conflict...
But if you are not using it, that is not the problem.
Did you add any additional device on your network?

sa3atf & S58WW,

I don't know if I have a network card. A router is connected to the back o dell precision 3630 computer. I have ExpertSDR2 installed on another older computer, but it cannot find the SDR2 DX, either.

I was using the sdrDX program and was testing Mic1 on SSB.

Mic1 was working so I stopped all programs to backup. I don't know how to backup only the files/setting from ExpertSDR2. My backup program comes from terrabyteUnlimited and is not a Windows program. I reboot to a program on a thumb drive to backup.

Backed up, then restarted Windows, then restarted SunSDR's and found the problem.

I found the problem.

Unplugged/replugged the router and now all is well. :D

I had been having trouble with windows finding the wireless printer after a restart. Found a program at Brothers to fix I.P. addresses. Brother's program put the printers address in 192.168.0.11. The printer's address is xxxx.08 but Windows can't always find it and neither did Brother's.

SunSDRx does not insert it's address in my Arris router, but the router knows where to find it, until Brother's program uses the address.

Does anyone's SunSDR2 insert it's address into the router?
My Arris Client List does not show it. Arris is a 1000gb router.

Is there a way to change the I.P Address of the SunSDR2 without hold in the RST button in the back?

Photo is router after reset.

SunSDR does not insert IP anywhere. It just uses IP address (either default or configurable) - look at User Manual, it has very good explanation now it works between ESDR and SunSDR.

All you need to do in your home network is to make sure that there is nothing blocking traffic between your PC IP (where ESDR2 tuns) and your SunSDR IP.

If you not sure you understand IP addresses and networking on common (home/kitchen) level, then the best way at this stage would be either find a friend who does or contact ESDR support.

Manually add the IP address of your SunSDR to the static DHCP list of your router that way the router wont hand off the IP address to some other client when your radio isn't used, for a period of time or the DHCP lease expires on the IP address.
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

Rick,

My router does not have a manual entry for IP addresses.

I am trying to find a new router that has a DD-WRT configuration.. When I went to gigabit internet, I purchased an Arris DG3270, the same as Suddenlink had installed. I never cared, until now, but the SunSDR2 is taking router space, but did not identify to the modem. I am least of all a modem guy.

Not a problem until I ran the Brother's program that took the space in the modem that had been allocated for the SunSDR.. Other devices send some kind of code that keeps the modem on their IP address, even when they are not turned on.

I have been working all afternoon and evening trying to get the SunSDR back into a correct IP address.

Wish I could find accurate instructions on how to make IP address work again. I think that the new address has to be entered in the Old address field, then entered in the far right Set Address Box. Well back to running the cable to the PC instead of modem.

The "Discover" shows SunSDR at 192.168.16.200 - I can not change it. Either get "Can't set IP Address" Or it looks like it goes through but it is not reflected in the printed addresses.

John

John, I think you overcomplicate the stuff :)

To set new IP on SunSDR via Options-Device-Expert just connect your PC directly to SunSDR via ethernet cable and then set the new IP. Once new SunSDR IP is set, your local DHCP will not allocate this address to any oner device, with regards you do or do not have access to DHCP config.

VK6NX,

You are right. :D I did not know how easy it was until Roman responded to my email. Thank you, Roman.

Roman made it simple. I thought that the address I was entering was for the SunSDR2, not my PC. About 12 hours wasted, but now I have more experience!

Photos show it being done, with a new cable from the Sunsdr2 to the PC.
