I installed SDR3 V 0.9.0 and clicked Start.
It asks to install the latest FW 67.8.
FW is installed.
I start SDR3. Radio gui pops up
I clk on the On button and i get the message that the radio has lost connection.

Running W10 on i7 Dell

Problem solved.

In reply to my startup issue, I went to a Laptop and started SDR3 Ver 0.9.0 and it never asked for a FW update.
It started normally w/o any issues.
Obviously this is stored in the radio proper.

I came back to the Desk top and reinstalled SDR3 and it also started up w/o issue.
Never asked for FW update.
Where on SDR3 are these settings showing FW, etc?

Thanks for the reply.
In addition to that, does it show the Ip address and ports somewhere?
Or is that all automatic now with SDR3?
Also, that FW update I first received has gone away and both SDR2 & SDR3 show 66.8 as the current updated FW.

Tnx Tom W3FRG

Tom

Only place I know of so far is when you first open V3 in the Radio chooser:
You'll see the Radio IP addresses and the port numbers

example

Also I just noticed the gear icon in the lower right clicking on it will take you to the firmware loader

I'm puzzled about the FW Ver 67.8 that came up the first time I attempted to start SDR3?

Tnx for the inputs.

Hi have problem with first startup of SDR3.
Have read this correspondence and video but does not overcome my problem.

Have been using SDR2 successfully, upgraded to ver 11 recently and did the firmware upgrade.
Following discussion with another amateur who said had dowloaded SDR3 ver 11 and setup with no problems. So thought I would try..
Downloaded and ran. Got the splash screen, then the startup screen as above. Clicked on START and only got a screen headed SUN SDR2DX EED06121000312
Rest of screen blank.
Tried several times restarting computer each time. Always same result..
Start screen says 192.168.16.200 50001
Graphics API green light on DirectX 11
Clicking on little wheel at bottom gives no info of Firmware version.
Computer
AMD 6100 6core 3.3GHz 64bit. Graphics RadeonATI3000.
System Windows 10.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Could be a number of reasons. Check that your PC's firewall is appropriately configured.

Hi,
Thank you for your advise. I have checked to ensure Windows firewire has been changed to ensure both private and full internet access to SDR3.
Unfortunately no change to startup problem.
Many thanks

(In terms of startup) 99.9% what was said about ESDR2 is applicable to ESDR3. Try it.

Further to your problem.
Does ESDR2 work on same PC/same transceiver?
Does Win video card drivers and DirectX updated?
If you have a chance to test it on another PC?
Have you seen/followed N8SDR's instructions (posted on this forum) regarding Win setup?

Then (as it was seen multiple times earlier) just reinstall fresh copy of Windows, in 99% of cases that fixes the issue.
