Hi, just installed 3 0.9.0 but I am unable to tx or tune. Any help would be appreciated. Probably something simple that I missed. Thanks.

Did you have 1.3.9 the older version loaded before hand and did you do the firmware update via that version?

V3 ( all thus far) have required the lasted firmware to operate currently the only way to achieve that is from the prior V2 install and loading/updating firmware from it
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

Can anyone confirm that SDC 15.15. is not working well with TCI 1.6?

On the russian language SDC forum at forum.cqham.ru, UT4LW yesterday posted a prerelease of SDC 15.16 with " Adaptation to work with ESDR3. New CallBack feature". I have used SDC 15.15 with ESDR3 0.9.0 on Win10 and Ubuntu 21.1 with good results.

Hi,
It definitely doesn't work well, it just crashes ... The first boot starts working and then the SDC crashes ... I tested it on MB1 I'll try it later with sun2dx ..

I even have a few seconds of it running while doing the 0.9.0 video I did,

Perhaps doing a clean un install and re install will correct it for you

Hi, thanks for the info. Updated firmware and seems to be working. What is the correct setup for FT8? Thanks,

Doug

depends on What program you are using for FT8/Digital modes

As of the current V3 you can only use Digital mode software which has a TCI option - there are no VAC or Com Port options in the Alpha releases of V3

so if windows your options are:
JTDX or MSHV (I prefer MSHV) and have videos of both running and setups on my YouTube channel under my call- they should help get you going

If Linux then MSHV or JTDX

If MAC
JTDX

Rick,
I am attempting MSHV by following your video. However, I show Disconnected under Port 1 Network in the Interface Control. I can't find any helpful information. Help please. Thanks.

Do you have TCI turned on in V3 bottom right (TCI) should be green
also you may need to change the TCI port as mentioned ( disable TCI so not green change port to 40001) then re enable TCI and re start mshv

also make sure you having nothing using 40001 or 50001 like Anydesk remote software it will cause problems (whatever port your using in V3 TCI needs to be same value set in MSHV on PORT: field also make sure you use 127.0.0.1 for server in MSHV

RIG should be (TCI client RX1)

also make sure your using 2.59 or 2.60 version of MSHV older will not work

The problem is that I can't change anything in the Network box. I TCI is on and I have 2.59.

STAND BY there might be a new version (because TCI 1.6 is in V3 0.9.0 and the older MSHV version like 2.59 will not work with it)

Hang tight

Those of you using V3 0.9.0 (With TCI 1.6) this would technically I think be the 0.9.0c version which I think is currently posted on the Software download section for V3 and wish to use MSHV

Since the newest ALPHA release of v3 now uses TCI protocol 1.6 MSHV2.59 or older will no longer work!

In order to use MSHV with v3 0.9.0 you must follow the steps below. (This will only work for Windows X64 MSHV installs)
This is a fairly simple process and if you don't understand then I suggest you wait until the full release of 2.60 is available (maybe in October or so)

1) You must have 2.59 x64 installed currently ( if you don't have 2.59 then get it now) sourceforge.net/projects/mshv/files/MSHV_259_Installer_32_and_64bit.exe/download
2) After you install or already have installed then using this link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cxtPc9xqRpxfzqq1LFF8C6MmQjcHQS_s
Download and save MSHV_WIN64_260_rc005.zip
3) You MUST unzip or un compress the zip file and extract MSHV_WIN64_260_rc005.exe
4) Copy the extracted MSHV_WIN64_260_rc005.exe file and place it in the Folder for MSHV2.59 (do not overwrite or change anything just copy the file to that location)
5) Now open that location and right click on MSHV_WIN64_260_rc005.exe select create Short Cut on Desktop

Using the new Shortcut you have placed on your desktop you should now have a working version of MSHV- it should also show you TCI 1.6 for connection type with V3 0.9.0 If your using an older version of V3 with TCI 1.5 or possibly V2 then the TCI version shown in the the now MSHV 2.60 should reflect a prior version of the TCI protocol

So you should be able to use in the current , previous or older V2 EESDR software by launching from the newly created desktop shortcut.

Launching MSHV should now show version 2.60 64 bit if you do not see 2.60 64 bit then go back through the steps above, because it will not work with any version of V3 using TCI 1.6

Great version! I was able to use the Linux version with CQRlog. There are only two small quirks:
1. The program can't be terminated in usual way. Every attempt to terminate causes the GUI to disappear but the program is still there. Two processes must be killed separately.
2. APF tends to ringing.
Kudos to developers for another piece of software art!
