TOPIC: ExpertSDR3 0.10.0

ExpertSDR3 0.10.0 30 Oct 2021 14:30 #1

HI all
I have tried 0.9.0 and now 0.10.0 on my SunSDR2DX and I cannot get any settings under settings mic/equalizer to work TX audio is very bad. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. I have firewall off. Can someone that has the new software working help me find out what my problem is, I see many of you using the new SDR3 so it must be something on my end.

Thanks

I had the same problem...Your Mic Gain is too hot. I turned mine way down and the audio improved significantly.

If this was a public release it would be in the software download section for Version 3...it isn't, so let's wait for EE to post the finished version. I would have thought that suspected bugs in pre-release software are better dealt with by contacting EE directly..

The early build has a number of things not quite working yet:-

1. Right clicking on the Sound Card icon will show the input and output device but won't allow you to select it.
2. Right clicking the TCI will show the default port 50001 (cf. 40001 on EESDR2) but won't allow you to change it
3. TCI doesn't quite work with JTDX v.156. Not sure if this is because JTDX is not updated or if something is broken.
4. EESDR3 remote does not seem to support the ATU yet (but there is an ATU option in the settings.)
5. Not sure but ANC does not seem to do anything
6. In CW mode, the filter goes up to 500Hz and then USER. There is no indication of what USER is set to anywhere.
7. In USB mode there no VOX option.
8. EESDR3 remote also does not support the second receiver yet

It seems that EESDR3 uses less bandwidth than EESDR2.

I don’t have 0.10.0 yet but in 0.9.0 at each startup it defaults to a mic that I don’t use.

In the Settings menu, I have to re-select MicPC after each startup where you select the profile.

It remembers my EQ and other processor settings but just doesn’t select the correct microphone at startup so I have to go into settings and select the mic profile at each startup.

The bug has been reported.

ANC is noise cancellation that uses a machine learning model to pul speech from noise. Find a noisy signal with speech in it and try ANC then, makes a rather huge difference but if you don’t have any speech present you won’t notice very much. In combination with the Auto AGC threshold it’s a powerful tool.

I guess I will just wait for SDR3 that works to come out as it will not work on either of the 2 pc's I have tried it on and know one has any thing for me to try. SDR2 works well I was just hoping to use some of the new features in SDR3.

Hello everyone.
This Wednesday we plan to send ESDR3 0.10.0 to testers.

ATTENTION:
If you can't provide a proper bug report with a structured explanation of the found issue and screenshots, or video (best case scenario) - please don't do it.
We get a lot of one-line bug reports which only clog the email and take additional time to process. In the end, they might be just a misunderstanding of how the ESDR3 works.
We DO appreciate the help of testers, their assistance is invaluable for the improvement and development of the new software.

But if you just want to try a new version of ESDR3, please keep it this way.
In the future, we'll have to limit the tester's group. The fact that new versions end up available for everyone else, who cannot deal with issues or bugs and report everything they see is not helping :pardon:

Disclaimer:
Bear in mind that both ExpertSDR3 and ERS are in the alpha state, thus there might be bugs and strange behavior.
At this stage we collect bug reports, we don't know the cause or solution for each issue.
ESDR3 is not documented yet, again, because it's in alpha state, thus requires self-learning.

Thank you very much Roman for the open and honest communication with your customers. Unlike other SDR radio companies who feel that keeping everything secret from it’s customers you keep your customers up to date with the latest information even tell customers right away when the rare software bug is found.
There are a few SDR radio options for people to choose from today but between the Great customer service and top level SDR software and hardware that's why I bought my MB1 and glad I did so.

Why not give the official testers an email address where they are the only ones who can send the bug reports for evaluation so that way you guys will not be flooded with the reports, and I think those testers are are also active on the forums that they can read other reports from other users (not official testers) of the ESDR3 that they can observe said bugs or strange behavior. Just my 2 cents.

Again one needs to understand this is ALPHA it was NEVER INTENED to be or SUGGESTED it be a FULL WORKING RELEASE, that's the problem with people posting links to things they DO not understand or take the time to investigate or have some technical background in beta or alpha testing hardware and or software.

,
Yes you can adjust both soundcard and TCI UDP ports, you must first turn off (NON GREEN Highlighted button) then you can click and adjust those settings or manually input the UDP port you wish to use then turn it back on and it will then use the changed field. (yes UNDOCUMENTED , YES it is ALPHA Yes things are missing that is the point it is ALPHA a PRE RELEASE for testing of the included thus far features not ones that haven't been implemented yet and then complain there missing!)
