Does this mean to erase the ESDR2 set up folder or erase the ESDR3 v9 set up folder if you have downloaded one???

Confused as well and I sent an email regarding this, as there is NO Settings folder under the windows V3 directory, I seriously doubt it mean to delete the V2 directory

But it could perhaps mean- remove the current V3 directory First before the installation.. for now Im gonna either do a Full system Image backup and just go for it or hopefully get a reply soon in which I will certainly post that info

just had a chat with Vasilly and he told me :
Update for previous users of V3 to clarify the comment delete "Settings" folder statement it means delete (ExpertSDR3) folder in the Program Files/Expert Electronics/ExpertSDR3
Василий
Василий Васильев
Because in some cases installer can't delete old version files from previous ESDR3

I think if you delete the folder you are referring too that will delete any user settings you have for V3- and I don't think that was what was really meant

Nothing John, V3 installs in a sperate directory so you can run either of them-
and since you didn't have a previous install of V3 you don't have to worry about deleting the (older v3 EESDR3) folder since it doesn't exist in your non prior V3 circumstance

Thanks for the help Rick I installed the beta but when I try to run v3 the program loads and I hear a click in the MB1 but when I click the power button on after a few seconds I get a message “Lost Connection To MB1”
Any ideas?

Did you delete the existing ExpertSDR3 directory before installing the new version?

He never had v3 installed before at all- so that directory would not have existed- I think its a firmware issue- that hasn't been upgraded

John did you do the last up grade to V2- that last V2 upgrade had a firmware update which is needed for V3- if you haven't done the latest V2 upgrade you will need to do that first- so that the firmware update takes place- Currently V3 is lacking the ability to fully do a firmware upgrade- it is coming but not fully implemented

Try that and let me know you have my # as well John call if I can help

I think you need to download and install the latest EESDR2 version (update 11) and run it. This should prompt you to update your radio firmware. If it doesn't you can manually do so in the Expert tab under options. I believe this is how you can get your firmware up to the current 72.8 version.

My bad - the latest for MB1 is update 9. Maybe you can try that. Update 11 is for some of the other radios. It doesn't look like version 72.8 is available for the MB1. Update 9 comes with version 66.
