RadioSync on macOS 28 Dec 2021 18:38 #1

I am trying to figure out how to use RadioSync on macOS. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I am under the impression that the purpose of the RadioSync software is to provide a software-created serial port in order to translate CAT commands to TCI commands and allow software that cannot use TCI to interoperate with the SunSDR2 radios.

When configuring RadioSync, I am supposed to select a serial port. But it only shows me serial ports that already exist -- only serial ports that are already in use by other devices. This doesn't make sense to me.

What I expect is to be able to specify the name of a serial port that does not yet exist, and for RadioSync to actually create this serial port.

Maybe there is a common macOS utility for creating fake serial ports, but I am unaware of it. I have played around a bit with "socat", but I couldn't make any progress.

Can someone point me at the resources I need to make this work?

Thanks.
