Hi all,

Am using the E-Coder Mini as a tuning knob & would like to know if there's an easy way to switch the tuning focus between Rx1 and Rx2 in SDR2 or SDR3?

Was hoping that the tuning focus would automatically switch to the active receiver ; e.g. click on RX2, tuning knob tunes RX2, click on RX1, tuning knob tunes RX1, but this doesn't happen. Is there a check box to enable this behavior somewhere - or a possibly keyboard mapping that will toggle between the two states? If not, plese consider this a feature request!

Note that am using an E-Coder Mini as a tuning knob, have not added any extra switches to the unit, and the design intent for using the E-coder mini prohibits this; i.e. want the smallest possible footprint - one tiny box & one knob only.

So far have found two methods of doing this;

1. If you have an e-coder with multiple extra buttons, one of them can presumably be mapped to switch the tuning focus between RX1 & RX2. Note that am using an e-coder mini, without any extra buttons added to the unit, and do not wish to add any extra buttons to the unit. So this won't work for this usage scenario

2. Under the options menu -> Panel -> bottom middle of the page there's a drop down menu to select Rx1 vs Rx2. This works fine but is cumbersome and somewhat impractical.

Why would I want to do this? An example: RX1 = phone RX2 = CW, would like to be able to rapidly switch the focus of the tuning knob between the two.

BTW - the build quality on the mini E-coder is excellent, the knob is smooth and stable, and the tuning is smooth and precise - especially with adaptive tune and fine tune enabled in the e-coder panel options. Have designed & 3D printed an enclosure for the mini-eCoder. If there's any interest in this kindly let me know.

73 & thanks,
JS

JS

Program an E-Coder button to "Switch Receiver". This button will then toggle the focus of the E-Coder between RX1 and RX2. The rightmost LED will light to tell you that focus is on RX2. Sorry - ignore my comment - you don't have any buttons!

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your help! Would be very useful to have a "switch reciever" button implemented in software. BTW here are 3D renders & a pic of the mini-ecoder enclosure; the knob is for a Xiegu G90 and was purchased on eBay. The recesses for the feet were sized to accept small magnets. To the moderators: kindly move this thread to the e-Coder "Accessories" section if appropriate.
