Thank you EE team for releasing Alpha version 0.12 to the wider audience this morning.
By reading the release document, it states that the new firmware which Alpha 0.12 requires is not compatible with EESDR2 due to significant upgrades in the communication protocol.

Once I install EESDR3 Alpha 12, what happens when I try switching back to EESDR2? Will it just prompt me to downgrade the firmware on my SunSDR2 DX?

I apologize if this was already covered elsewhere.

Yes. When you run EESDR2, if it detects an incompatible firmware version, it will prompt you to "upgrade". If you agree, it will load firmware version 72.8 which then allows EESDR2 to function normally.

Thank you. Okay so firmware upgrade appears to be straightforward. It just so happens that switching between v2 and v3 will require this step.

I would appreciate information from EE staff what is the FLASH lifetime. Count of the erase/write cycles is limited, some devices has E/W cycles count as low as some hundreds only.
