Hi,

I broke down and decided to switch to JTDX so I could start running the ESDR 3 Alphas and soon Betas on macOS. According to PSK Reporter, I am not getting out. I will answer all the first questions you will ask me about settings, etc.:

1. Time is synched. See screenshots with DT of .5 or less
2. I am using TCI for both CAT and Audio
3. I am RX/decoding just fine--a dozen or more stations when a given band is open.
4. RX modulation is good between 40-60db
5. All TCI CAT controls work just fine.
6. My external wattmeter shows the output of 10-15 watts without my amp and I can easily see 75-100 watts modulation with the amp engaged (The amp is a PCB HardRock 500)
7. Temperature on both the radio and the amp increases as the duty cycle in JTDX runs calling CQ
8. Nobody returns my call of CQ or when I answer another station

I suspect that I am overdriving the TX audio and it is too distorted for any stations on PSKReporter to decode. Is there a way to find out if the audio out (and into the SunSDR2 Pro2) is overdriving things? I just cannot seem to find it if there is. For troubleshooting purposes, I went back to WSJT-X and EESDR v2 and everything is fine. I get signal reports/decodes on PSK Reporter.

Any thoughts?

Thanks and 73

Hallo fro Sweden I also tried the V3 012.0 and 0.12.1 and also see that when I hit my ptt pedal it is some kind of boost I see it under the boost slider in left corner even when it is not enabled. I see that my amplifire put out much more power to a say 55 % on the drive slider than it did earlier .V2 and also V3 vers. 11 is lower output. I have tried to find a way to lower this "gain" but have not find it. I also get report on suddenly distortion on my signal ( using ssb) Let go on ptt and hit ptt again and distortion is gone. So I think you are right about maybe to much gain in the software. I ended up using V3 .11 beacause I also had problem with disconnection. I have tried V3 .11 40 hours going whithout no disconnection at all and "normal" gain.. I also have no report on distortion.I. Now wait for V3 0.13 and will use V3 . 11 until beta comes.

So i have same issue, and i discovered that using ESSDR3 with JTDX, receive is ok, but at transmit the radio transmit on lower frequency, for that reason you don't see your spots on pskreporter. I am using EESDR2 for FT8.

Hi Randy, I have looked at your screenshot.

Try move the power slider located at upper right part of JTDX upwards.

Hi Richard,

Why? I have a HardRock 500 which gives me 450-500 watts out on 5 watts of drive. Being a good op, I get about 100 watts on 2 watts of drive. I do not need more power. I need a clean signal. On version 2 I am getting decoded fine using the old method of audio input, VAC. There does not seem to be a way to adjust audio in the TCI method.

Hi Joe,

I have been using version 2 again. I would like to switch to v3 for 100% use but this issue keeps me from converting to the newest v3. I was hoping some of the developers would chime in and offer some advice.
