Hello,
Im running a 2DX using 12.1 alpha.
It is very stable and will run for days with a direct connection to the PC.
If i try running it through my router which is mikrotik hAC 2 the software loses connection after some time.
Same results for wired ethernet or wifi on same router.
Does anyone run stable through a mikrotik router?
Do you have a suggestion for a different router or possibly a settings change in the router configuration?

Thank you,
Mike

Hello
The router indeed is the issue, possible solutions are there – github.com/ExpertSDR3/ExpertSDR3-BUG-TRACKER/discussions/118
The most reliable connection is the direct connection between TRX and PC, or it should be a trusted router.

Thank you for the reply.
I did change the router to Asus GS-AX3000 and now the connection is flawless.
Still, better latency with the direct connection to PC though.
Overall I am very happy with the performance of the 2DX.

Hello Ron.
There are hundreds of routers, and we cannot check all of them, thus such a list doesn't exist.

HIGHLY ADVISE NOT GETTING A DAMN SWITCH or ROUTER THAT IS A GREEN POWER MODEL>>> Also get a 1GB switch / Router, it will step down to the 100Meg that the EE rigs use and automatically connect up to the 1GB other items use. Treat your network , Radios and other items like there in a Business environment network configuration- and you'll be better off.

If you do have a Green switch / Router and it is a MANGED switch TURN off the Green/ Power saver option, Managed switches are great, but probably overkill for most users when it comes to configuration of them, if managed give priority to your RADIO and Computer

I also look for switches and routers which have INTERNAL POWER connections- the type where the AC plug is directly on the unit itself instead of using a wall wart- you'd be surprised at times the noise these cheap wall warts produce and now you're injecting that crap on your network with a radio connection it' can act like one big antenna!

If its a Business class series router/switch your chances are very good that performs issues will be minimal
If its a basic home user/consumer grade router/switch then your chances of having problems has GONE UP!
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

Sure John
I'm talking about the switches that do not use a wall-wart, AC to DC external power adapter . Instead power from AC mains is plugged directly into the unit.

Hi Anto66 the easy thing to do if you can is a VIDEO of what you are doing to get things working then put it on YOUTUBE and post a link here then all members can have a look and give advise to you to get your radio working, hope this helps.

Something for you to check turn your FIREWALLS OFF to do the test to get your radio working I was doing a sunsdr2pro and I know how easy it should be but it took me around 2hrs to get everything working on a NEW PC, I know sometimes you get problems with the EXEPTIONS in the firewall so I turn them OFF when setting the radio up then turn them back on once everything's working, also doing the video helps other people and they might just spot something small that might have been done wrong, it only takes something small to stop your radio working with SOFTWARE.
