Hi everybody,
today I noticed ExpertSDR 2 loses all the settings after restarting the software on an M1 Macbook running Monterey 12.4.
So every time I should set all the parameters again (cluster, tci, vac, etc…) .
Is some kind of bug or am I doing something wrong? (yes I click Apply after setting the parameters).

Hello, Tony.
We haven't heard about this behavior before, nevertheless, we don't have M1 mac in the office, that's why on the web-site we state:
"ExpertSDR3 software is being tested on the latest versions of Windows 10, Linux Ubuntu, and macOS (with Intel CPU)."

Hi Roman, I just did some more tests after reading you reply.
I went on Intel Mac and everything is fine.
Then I created another user profile on my M1 Mac and… everything is fine.
So is something related to my main user.
Before everything was fine, the only thing I changed some days ago was installing loopback audio.
Maybe some Pref file can be corrupted, but even reinstalling didn't help.
I would like to try if copying some Pref (or any library folders) related to ExpertSDR, from the new user to the main user could help.
Can you please tell me all the library folders I can copy from new user Library to my main user Library ?
Thanks, Tony.

I haven't had that problem with EESDR2 on my iMac M1 running Monterey 12.1 so I wonder if something has changed in the 12.4 version? I have also run the EESDR3 on the same machine (not in transmit mode) and it runs fine.

Although it appears to run OK I would also suggest that now would be a good time for the developers to start testing EESDR3 with an M1 based Mac since the M1 chip has now been in Apple products since November 2020 and I think more an more users of Expert SDR will update their old Apple products as time goes on.

Tony, try using this free VAC cable and see if it makes any difference with your original user...

It is a really good (and affordable) alternative to Loopback and just as easy to set up.

Hi guys.
1. If you want to find the Profile files or Options files of the ExpertSDR2/3, here are the paths:
Windows: C:/Users/UserName/AppData/Local/Expert Electronics/ExpertSDR2/3
Linux: /home/UserName/.config/Expert Electronics/ExpertSDR2/3
Mac OSX: /Users/UserName/Library/Preferences/Expert Electronics/ExpertSDR2/3

2. Among all our customer base, there are about 10% Mac users, at max. Possibly 5-10% among them uses M1 Mac.
What you suggest is for us to work/develop on a dedicated software version for a very small group of users, it's not possible. More than that, it's practically impossible to get an M1 mac in Russia at the moment.
In time, the situation may change, there will be significantly more M1 users, at least half of our Mac customers turn to M1, then it'd make sense)

Thanks a lot Alan for suggesting VB-AUDIO, I was really concerned by the price of Loopback.
Will definitively give it a try.

Thanks Roman, moving the preferences files from the new profile to the main one, SOLVED the problem.
maybe it was just some corrupted file or permissions issues.
Now ExpertSDR works well on my main user account and if I make changes to the Options, they are saved and I find them when I open the software again.
Problem solved.
Thanks a lot.
