When I want to use antenna port (A2) for receive only with a LOTG receive antenna for the lower bands and use antenna port (A3) only for transmit, will then port A2 go to ground? So I will not get interference on my receive A2 port. Or damage the transceiver?

Thank you all for your comments!

Hi,
I used most of the time both the Pro2 and the DX rig, switching A2 and A3 antennas without any problems.
Only be sure to set the RX antenna (A2 or A3) in the Antenna panel so that you won't accidentally transmit on it.
I am just findind a bit annoying the TX/RX or the ANT-2/3 relays (I don't know which of them) and I am wondering if the next batch of DX and pro2 will provide a noiseless solid state relay. A DIY rig modification would be fine as well.
Working in full-qsk on different RX/TX antennas is almost impossible for me.

The short answer is yes , just set which ever connector your using for the Loop on the Ground as a RX only option in the settings,
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

Just to clarify - you're saying yes, during TX the unused antenna (A2 or A3) will be grounded. Did you also mean that it will only be grounded (ie. the front end is protected) when that non-transmitting antenna is set to RX only? If you fail to do that, is it still grounded?

HI,
What about the need of a Front End Saver to protect the A2 during TR.
Is it necessary ?

It seems that N8SDR was suggesting that the ANT3 input is grounded (and therefore protected) when ANT2 is transmitting. I was trying to get clarification if this was what was meant but am still waiting some confirmation.

Well, the question remains to the forum. Is the RX Only input protecting the front end circuit during transmitting with a high power linear amplifier (not the 100w) of the SUNSDR2 DX device ?

I am suspecting that Yes During TX that the RX Only Ant is disabled internally

I could be wrong- and perhaps Roman or Vasilly can clarify if that is not the case

Many Thanks for the quick reply Rick.I wish the protection is good enough as the receiving antennas are very close to the transmit one.

I have the same concern Agelos. The two antennas are quite close and may see high induced voltages/currents.

Hello,
When you TX using A2, A3 is grounded and vice versa.
You can see it on the diagram of the TRX on our web-site - eesdr.com/images/Document/SunSDR2_DX/Block-diagram_SunSDR2DX.jpg

Thanks Roman - I forgot to look at the block diagram. That's really good to know.
