Problkem with VAC 16 Jan 2022 15:53 #1

I had a monitor problem last week when a video output went and I have had to change over PC. I have had to reload and install all software. Everything is back working almost. I have an SDR2 DX and run SDC64 with TCI. JTDX is running fine along with Logger32 and auto logs both to Logger and direct to LOTW. Yesterday I wanted to try out RTTY when somebody asked ME for advice and I found that RTTY was not working. I had forgotten that N1MM will not work with TCI and need a COM Port and a VAC.

My new PC is a little micro PC Dell Optiplex 3020 but only has ONE com port. No worries when running TCI. So I downloaded comOcom and created 3 pairs of ports COM3,4, 5,6, 7,8. I downloaded a VAC software of the type shown in the SunSDR2 Addedendum by Erik. It is running OK and I have created 6 VAC.

I am a little confused (Its over 15 months since I bought the Sun and got it running) as to what is an output and what is an input. When I go to OPTIONS, VAC should ny "receive" be an output or an input? I thought I'd try setting up MMTTY on its own so as not to complicate matters, but on trying to setup the sound card again I am confused at to which is the output and which is the input. Should the VAC in the Sun be an output to the PC Soundcard / MMTTY input and vice versa.

Bottom line is that the VAC in the SunSDR is showing a signal with a moving bar, but using the same nomenclature in the Soundcard / MMTTY I am not getting a received signal in MMTTY. I have checked my device manager and all COM ports are showing and under audio all VAC cables are showing. DM tells me everything is working OK. I have tried almost every combinations of in and out but cannot get RTTY working. Using TCI, FT4/8 works fb via TCI....

The Receive is the Output of the SDR but is the Input of the digi mode software.

The Output of the digimode software is the Input of the SDR.

So it's easy to get "inside out" when configuring.

I think I havetried evey possible combinations of out and in but still no success. I'm pretty sure my sounf card is not seeing any audio.....
