TOPIC: Max power out is 84W

Max power out is 84W 06 May 2022 05:00 #1

The maximum power out I can get is 84W. Power supply is at 14.3 VDC. Everything in the software is max. How do I get 100w out of the radio?

You should check the max output power with:
1. Tune mode, Tune slider = 0.
2. Dummy load.
3. What is the current level displayed in ESDR2?
4. On what band? Have you checked all bands?
5. Set Peak power indicator in Options-> Display-> Indicator (for Mic operation).

Roman I don't think you mean to set the # to MIC LEVEL, i think that is a typo correct?

I think you mean PEAK and NOT RMS?

Using SDR2 1.3.1 update 11, do a Left Click on the "Mic 1 or 2 " select button.
A table will appear to select the following: Mic 1, Mic 2, Mic PC and Enable Mic AGC,

Make sure that "Mic AGC" is unchecked for this power test, but make sure it is checked when using modulation, AM/SSB, etc,, or your audio will be horrible.
I must note that I personally didn't see any Pout increase doing this.

Hi, not sure I should have created a new topic, but this one looks quite relevant to my question. What max power I am supposed to get from DX using 12V PSU? Thinking of using server power supply which doesn’t have any Vout adjustments and wondering how much power I’d loose.

Hello,
With 12V PSU, you'll get about 90W, at max.

Is the voltage indicated with the EESDR2 & EESDR3 SW measured at the input to the SunSDR2 DX input or directly at the RF Finals?
The current indicated by the SW is exactly as shown on my SPS-30DM Switching Pwr supply, but the voltage is -0.4V lower, typically.
This could just be due to the loss in the leads from the Pwr Sup?

Reading Para 5.6 answers my questions regarding the Voltage and Current; Sort of.....
It states that both U & I are measured inside the Radio.
But, is that directly at the input jack or at the RF Device(s)?
