On the "Maykop 2013" HAM Fest for the first time was presented new concept of HAM Stand Alone Radio based on new DUC/DDC technologies via our transceiver SunSDR2. This is a "SunSDR-MB1" HF/6M/VHF transceiver.
So.. In one box we have : Full PC(Micro-ITX PC, Intel Core i5 CPU, full blown Windows 7 (or Linux Ubuntu)), transceiver's hardware core based on SunSDR2 transceiver, 125W PA, PA LPF, ATU(option), Antenna switch, GPS receiver(option), WLAN(option), 7" display, Fully reprogrammable front panel (all buttons and all knobs), green highlight of all buttons and a main knob. Also additional HDMI connector for external a big display.
User can push one button (20 sec start time/ 5 sec finish time) and can works in radio air without Keyboard and mouse. If customer wants he can use mouse and keyboard for extended transceiver's control and for working with Logger, DIGI software etc., which installed inside the transceiver.
It is more than a simply clasical transceiver, it is more than simply monoblock (PC+SDR), this is new generation in HAM transceivers - fully DUC/DDC Software Defined Radio, fully Software Defined Front control panel!

Re:Stand Alone Software defined Radio =SunSDR-MB1= 27 Sep 2013 14:05 #2

Hello,

Is this transceiver already available to buy somewhere ??
Is a 120 Volts version available for North America ??

Do SunSDR-MB1 have a 6M LNA inside and how much is the MDS on 6M by 500 hz ??
How much is the MDS on any band ??

Can SunSDR-MB1 Do E-SSB ?? If yes how wide by transmit and how much wide by listen ??

There is several technical performances informations i missed .

Thanks in advance

Hello Michel,
This transceiver is prototype and we have only one device. At the present time we are create a new design for this transceiver and it will very interesting. In near future we will open for all our new project of SunSDR-MB1 transceiver.

120 V version is not available yet but we will try to find the same power supply for North America.

In SunSDR-MB1 we are use SunSDR2 platform and all characteristics the same as in the SunSDR2 transceiver. In all HF bands and also in 6M band is used switchable+12dB LNA. With this LNA MDS is -136dBm in 500Hz. Without LNA MDS is -126dBm in 500Hz. In range 1-65MHz MDS is the same as 6M band.

Yes, SunSDR-MB1 can do ESSB. User can set RX filter bandwidth 0-20kHz and can set the same TX filter. It can be adjustable.

All basic technical parameters you can find in the SunSDR2 tech.parameters is here, but output power will 125W + Tuner in HF and 30W on VHF.

Hello Vassil,

Thanks for all your informations .
I have few more other questions :

Will SunSDR-MB1 have full duty cycle capability ?

Will SunSDR-MB1 have RX diversity by using 2 independants antenna port ?

Will SunSDR-MB1 have RX diversity by using 2 independants antenna port on 6M band also ?

Will SunSDR-MB1 have the capability to use both receiver (rx1 & rx2) on 6M BUT on two differente antenna and the capability to use in this way the 6M
preamp on each RX too (on different antenna mean)
Example :
RX1 on antenna port 1 with 6M yagi antenna with build in preamp in use
RX2 on antenna port 2 with another 6M antenna with build in preamp in use

Will SunSDR-MB1 have the capability to use a dedicated amplifier PTT switching on each antenna port (wishlist) . in this way more amplifier connectivity.

Thanks in advance Vassil.

To Michel VE2XK,
All your questions has an answer yes if the transceiver has two(or more) independent receivers stages, like two High speed ADC, BPFs, LNA etc.. But at the present time we are use one receivers stage - one ADC, BPF unit, LNA, ATT and wide frequency range 0...80MHz. User can to receive two or more bands by software defined receivers but via one antenna port. Transceiver has two switchable antenna ports for range 0...80MHz and one antenna port for 80...160MHz, but only one port can be used at the same time.
I think that we will use in future two(or more) independent receivers with all features you want. But I have not more info about dead lines... At first we will start with one hardware wide receiver and next other.

P.S. Power supply in SunSDR-MB1 works from input voltage AC 100...240V 50/60Hz. It will work in North America too.
