It looks like the ground wire connection on the back of the Rig is a phono plug connection.Currently I don't have a ground wire connected to the MB1. Where did you purchase a ground wire connection with a phono plug at the end of it?
Thanks!

My mistake. It seems like it requires either a spade lug or a wire wrapped around the screw connector. Unfortunately you can't remove the screw mechanism and put a ground strap on it. Any suggestions?

It's good point, Mark. Here I cut off the terminal on the end of the ground strap and solder an alligator clip to it. Use a good strong one and it will firmly grip the ground post without risk of coming off unnoticed. There are probably more elegant ways.

Erik.

Erik,
I just don't understand why they would put a ground connection on the radio that would require you to use a spade lug connector. And especially when you can't get the screw mechanism off. That was definitely poor engineering on someone's part. I could purchase a pigtail with spade lug and then connect the end of that to a ground strap with a screw. That is another possibility. Any thoughts on that?

I used a solid banana plug, works pretty well. I’ll take a picture later on to show you. But I agree, the ground connector is not the best type... Next time I open up my MB1 I’ll see if there is an easy way to change it to a better type.

I agree, it is a nuisance. EE are not alone though to be fair. Yes, your idea is a good one, as is that from Hans Christian. Both are better than my alligator clip method

As for changing it out, it is not very accessible. I think it would be a PIA to do it. But if anyone can, it is Hans Christian :good:

Here’s the type of banana plug I’ve used. Crimped inside. Not the best solution, but it’s a pretty tight fit in the MB1.

Hi...My 12v dist. panel has a fused branch circuit that is not used. I would like to add a few small lights from that lead. My question is, what is the proper, safe way to ground it?Hot wire to the switch, then to the lamps. Mounted on wood the lamps need a ground. Where do I connect the ground? I'm thinking a grounding bus for 12v in the converter, but I can't find it.To clarify, I have an 06 Cougar 5er. The converter is a WFCO 8955. I want to install small lights in a large dark pantry. My converter has a neutral bus and a grounding bus on the A C side. I don't think I want to ground 12v to the 120 A C side of the box. I think Burbman had it right. I will check behind the converter when I get home.Seems like a common converter, so I will post what I find.
