Several people have emailed me about this mod, so I'm posting it here in the forum. It was originally posted on the SunSDR MB1 facebook group.

I’m using my MB1 remotely a lot. One thing that bothers me is that the PC can’t be switched on remotely. So I’ve made my own solution... I opened up the front panel and soldered a wire across the on/off switch (the wire to the left can be connected to any ground connection). Be extremely careful when opening the front panel! Same goes for soldering on the SMD components. Routed the wire out of the radio via the rubber gasket in the unused WiFi antenna hole.
I have connected this wire to my Microbit Webswitch 1216h. This IP controlled relay hub has a timer for relays, so I can activate a relay for only one second for example. Perfect for switching on my MB1!
I can now remotely via an iPhone app or a web browser turn on and off relays for AC power to everything needed in the shack, plus turn on my MB1.
