I would to make a adapter cable to go from an XLR mic to the RJ45 MIC2 connection on the front of the SunSDR2 Pro. I've followed somewhat the diagram in the Russian manual but I was wondering if this will work? Please excuse the bad drawing. :)

I want to add... I combined the shield and Mic - wires together that go to pin 4 on the RJ45. Is this needed or would it be better to leave the shield (pin 1 on the XLR) open and go from the microphone -> XLR -> Direct Box (DI Box) and then to the radio as to remove any ground loops? I think that makes sense. Also, what is the purpose of the capacitor in the diagram from the manual?
