TOPIC: How to key an external amplifier?

How to key an external amplifier? 26 Jul 2022 15:09 #1

I am using ESDR2 software, looking for some way to key my external amplifier (it is home made) I just need a simple PTT action, for instance, when I press MOX it will send ground or send +Vcc (ideally +Vcc) so I can key up my external relay?
PA is enabled in the top of the screen, On the Ext Ctrl I tryied pin 14 but it puts out constant 15V, MOX on or off will not afftect it, also tryied pin 13 (X8PTT) but nothing happens when pressing MOX. I tried some clarifications in the manual, also in this forum, but could not find any practical way to do this.

Thank you

Then, you are special, Ed.

Because all others use the manual (has detailed descriptions and links to connection diagrams and explanation of nesessary menus, settings, etc in ESDR).

Thanks, I may be "spacial"as you said, but you and who put the instructions/ilustrations to hook up a external PA is an idiot!
What is +12B, -12B? Why use coax cable to connect this?
Why when you put a ohmimeter between pin 13 and pin 15 an press MOX nothing happens?

And Pavel, if you cannot help just keep your mouth shut.

I said "special", not "spacial", but as you wish :hi:

Sure, sure I will silently enjoy it to the logical end :D
(Perhaps, you will find another, who will enjoy the spoonfeeding you through the manual sections 3.4, 3.5, 5.7.1.5 and guide you through the above diagram.)

Hi,

the following is a widely used and working solution.
Pay attention during the soldering: burning the inside SMT fuse is very easy.
