Hi,

Just an idea, but maybe it has already been done or at least discussed...

Is it possible to emulate Winkey in a software (eg. SDC) and send text/numerals to ExpertSDR via TCI? Most loggers support Winkey, so it would be logical and great if they could send characters to ExpertSDR rather than keying via COM-port across the network or computers. Sending would probably be much cleaner if latency is higher than ideal.

At the moment TCI enabled CW keyers, such as the one in SDC, can only send macros with real-time keyboard presses not sent until 'enter' is pressed. However that should be corrected when we see the upgraded TCI in ESDR3.

You see above the F keys will send the relevant macro but the free text 'ee' is not sent until send or enter is pressed which is not lke a Winkey emulation. But soon, it will be - Roman already stated this in another Forum message.

Even winkey does need an ESC sometimes as far as I remember.

But even if it is ready and enter is not an issue, how can we use the built-in keyer and macros from within N1MM+ or Win-Test? It has its own macros deeply embedded for efficient contest operation. So we need to emulate winkey I assume.

You can run TCI CW and non-TCI software like N1MM side-by-side. It makes no difference where the input comes from.
