I have recorded 4 audio files of a fellow ham and his 2 mics and different settings. I can play the file back over the air to him immediately after recording but any file prior to that is in the save directory but HOW DO I ACCESS IT?
I have yet to find a function that allows me to access the directory, choose the file and play back to him.

What am I missing?

Nate

My manual is 7.5 and I've read it many times.
Tells me where the files are, it tells me how to Play the audio over the air, but it does not say how to choose the different files in the directory.
I'm trying find out how to access the directory via the recorder functions, choose the file to play and play it.

There is an answer. I do not know why Roman did not give it. You will need to utilise SDC with the basics of TCI set up and the Macro server tab open.

1. Make your recording(s) using on/off line recording to wave file in ESDR2. Do not convert to mp3.
2. In SDC with Macro enabled and set for Use In SSB, have External Window checked.

3. Use the external window, called Macro 1, to load the wav file. The cog icon top right of Macro 1 does that.

4. Press F1 in the Macro 1 window and your radio will transmit the audio file over the air.

Thank you for your time. I had a feeling the answer was not a direct one.
I will set this up today and see how it works. Thanks again for your info.

You're a gentleman and a scholar Erik.
I've DL'd TCI Macro and SDC and installed. Slowly but surely fumbling my way thru the fix.

Maybe in the new Version 3, instead of LEFT CLICKING the Green Play Arrow to play the file in queue it would produce a DIALOG BOX with the option of this file or saved file
By clicking SAVED FILE, it would produce the designated directory where the files are saved, choose one of the SAVED FILES and there by eliminating the use of 3rd party software.

Thanks again for your help.

You are welcome. I would expect some big improvement in ESDR3 in this area. TCI development has moved on which facilitated the recent SDC macro server. However ESDR2 was put on hold to maximise time for ESDR3 thus leaving the recording and playback feature somewhat unfinished. Therefore we ought to see what you seek, though I have not seen any indication of it thus far.

Just a note, be careful playing with this if you run an amplifier.

I forgot to put my amp into standby and when I fired off the wav files testing this a HUGE power spike occurs. Luckily I didn’t damage my amp (LDMOS) but I saw 1900W output due to the spikes when the amp was set for about 1kW based on the input drive from the Sun at the time. I suspect the spikes were full output power of the Sun, though I have them limited to max at 23W now.

Also oddly, the wav files I have all play at super fast speed so it must only work with particular types of wav files.

I haven’t found settings that work smoothly yet as I’m a bit suspicious of the TX spikes now.
