NO I do NOT as he LISTED more details in how he came about most of the numbers and also based on he has Setup system to reach full potential
Werner also lists and show how he came about those figures- and which measurements he used

I just curious how many "mysteries" you, guys, have created around SunSDR network setup over years ... and more are pouring in. "Department of networking Mysteries" should named be you (c)MasterYoda.

There is an official manual with network setup. There are other documents "for network dummies" in official documentation section - yet every new "explorer" tends to bring his new "flavor" :)

Yeah, it is about page 2 of DC4KU Test Report. His recommendations about network are misleading. No doubt, that we will have more "He-e-e-elp, cannot start DX" topics, when people will follow such "instructions".

"For the PC to recognize the transceiver its IP address must be changed" ... Ha-ha-ha.

Do you want to set another mystery for ESDR3? Easy.
1. Connect DX directly to PC via ehternet cable.
2. Leave DX IP at its "default" 192.168.16.200.
3. PC IP address can be 192.168.X.Y where X and Y whatever-in-range 1...254. To make sure experiment is clean, do not use X=16.
Leave Network Mask "default". Windows will make it 255.255.255.0 for you. Linux and Mac users - just enter 255.255.255.0 (you may trust me this is the default network mask for this range).
4. Start ESDR3 and - voilà - DX is "recognised". But - you will not be able to "start"... "Mystery it is" (c).
5. Change PC's network mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 ... o-o-o-ops ... now you can start it.

It is called "street magic", I believe.

As for the rest of DC4KU measurements:
1. Making report in November 21 for ESDR2 - makes no sense. At this stage ESDR2 development is ceased and in maximum 6 months ESDR2 may no longer be even supported.
2. Making report for ESDR3 at this stage - makes even bigger no sense. Alpha.
3. Making report for SDR without defining computer parameters? LOL.

And the last. "Expert Electronics introduced a new software under the name ExpertSDR3, which works according to a completely new concept" ...
Really? :shock:
Can you, please, define the "concept" and explain how it is "completely new"?
TBH, up until now I thought the "concept" remains the same, but the SW development framework has been changed ... but it seems Werner knows something ...

The Sherwood Engineering list has many SDR;s at the top of the page.

The Flex and Apache range are always represented in the top 20. Both radios being pureplay SDR's and then handing the number crunching to a local PC.

Agree with your commentary regarding the spec of the local PC.

It needs to be sufficient. For the EE radios, the spec of the graphics card is becoming more important.

Apart from a hardware failure, there's an apparent disconnect of methodology between Sherwood and DC4KU based upon measurement results. The fact that DC4KU was able to achieve very respectable RMDR and close-in DR3 performance can possibly be explained in the measurement setup and control software selections such as dither/random.

Also of interest are the measurements of VA7O7 and the ARRL concerning the SunSDR2-Pro. I'm not clear on hardware differences that would result in substandard performance in those tests compared to that reached by DC5KU with the SunSDR2-DX. I had believed that minor front-end filter changes between the two hardware designs wasn't enough to explain the performance differences.

I hope some of you can share your 2m settings. People complain about my audio being too thin and narrow on 2m.
