For those that want a virtual comport over the network now I was able to negotiate a discount with KernalPro for Hams of %50 off. It's still pricey because you have to buy two license to connect to PCs, but it has worked well today. It's fast to setup and also will let you creat your virtual comports as well for other functions. I had ComCat, HRD, DM780 all running on my main PC today along with the MB1's screen using a free tool called NoMachine. You can share both physical and virtual ports over the network.

NoMachine has potential as well enabling you to use you remote PCs sound and Mic on the host PC as well as connect USB devices to the host from the remote or visa versa. I am using it to use the MB1's screen with my main PC's keyboard and mouse and display on my big monitor.

Here's your KernalPro Discount Code if this interests you.

The coupon is good until the end of this year.

It is still a cost. SDC does this free of charge. It also does much more simultaneously. Also EE will be releasing software to further enhance the SDC solution.

Thanks, good to know.. I am playing with LAN based virtual audio connectors now to transfer audio cleanly without hard wire connections from the radio to the big PC. Cool stuff! Also free VB Audio Cables. If all goes well, the MB1 will only have the radio and virtual connectors to manage.
