What have other owners experienced with the MD-15 handheld microphone?
When I first put the MB-1 on the air I used the MD-15 before adjusting any transmit processing. The transmitted audio was awful....very high-pitched and pinched.
Later I tried the MD-15 using my mic profile for an Electrovoice RE-320. The MD-15 still sounded awful. After an hour's work on the processing parameters, I was able to make it sound "acceptable"
Has anyone developed profiles for other mics...for instance the various Heil microphones designed for ham rigs; or for Heil professional mics.
All the advanced transmit audio processing profile parameters are daunting and confusing.
It would be very nice if "starter" profile files could be shared with the group for a number of mics.
This would really help all new users get started, Also really helpful when using a new mic on the MD-1.

Thoughts?
Thanks and 73,Torrey N9PY

Do a search under the SunSDR2Dx - I listed complete settings for using a Heil mic and also many parameters that are good starting points in the EESDR software as far as TX filtering etc. Screen shots of settings etc.
The software is the same on the rigs the Firmware is the difference- the Mic settings I did should help get you going
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.

I entered your settings. I am very pleased with the sound using an RE-320 mic.
Definitely beats the settings I have used for months.
Still interested to know if anyone is using the MD-15 hand mic which comes with the MB-1........and their experience.

I did use it originally but was not too impressed with its audio quality. It is acceptable but I found that tailoring the equalization to get to my desired target response was not easy. In the end I found that electret microphones were much better and settled on the Mod Mic 4 as used by the FT4JA DXpedition that used SunSDR radios.
