What exactly does this cable do? The reason I'm interested is that I also have an SPE amplifier, I have the baby of the group, the 1K. I have the amplifier connected to my ICOM 7800 at the moment and because I'm using the CT-17 interface the amplifier actually follows the frequency when I tune the ICOM. The amplifier will also switch on when I switch on the ICOM. This has been puzzling me because I can't see how the amplifier will operate in the same way if I just connect the Sun SDR to my SPE via some coaxial cable. Do I need to collect something to the serial port on the SDR which then connects to the amplifier?

Oh my, that looks complicated. :-)

I think I may just use it with the 20 W until I get used to it and feel confident enough to look at attaching it to amplifier, if I ever feel the need to do so.

What I'm trying to find is a suitable antenna that doesn't need an antenna tuner. I thought I found one at radio world, it was a fan dipole. However, after reading this specification it stated that you would need a tuner for some of the bands..
