I would like to record audio and video while I am using ExpertSDR.
Can you suggest me a software to do it?

Bandicam will give you video with audio direct from the SDR

Can you give us more details? What does it mean direct from the SDR ?
I can record audio/video from any RX on ESDR but when I use the CW key (TX) the sound is distorted with crackling ... hard to understand something. Same with MME or WDM-KS.
Not to mention that you cannot record sound if you have ASIO driver configured for Sound Card.

Anyway I did some tests with a limited version of Bandicam but I was unable to record audio. Do i need any additional VAC for this purpose?

Recording audio with Bandicam is simple. Remember the audio from the SDR (which I referred to as direct from the SDR) is always on VAC1, assuming you followed the UMA.
Any application needing audio input is set to VAC 1. Therefore:





In Bandicam to record the SDR audio direct while also recording the screen, set VAC 1 as the recording input.
In Bandicam to record transmit audio, the setting will depend on how you do this. I avoid sound cards and keep it all in software. As with the digital voice keyer, adjust gain in software to avoid distortion in the recording.

To the question about alternatives, yes there are several. Use 'Google'!

Thanks Erik for the explanation but unfortunately it doesn't work with N1MM+ or the manual key connected through E-coder.
These are my settings:






Using CW generated from N1MM+ or from the key, Line 4 is Mute, does not have any sound, it works for RTTY perhaps but not for the generated CW.
If I use only Virtual Cable 7, TX recorded during CW session is very bad see an example:

I do not use an external sound card. My settings are not comparable. I have to say, my recording is perfect.

Hello Erik,
in the mean time I configured my system to record audio, video and transmitted cw sidetone with Bandicam. I enabled the PRO2 Soundcard output to "Virtual Cable 1" and it was just enough. I usually listen to the PRO2 audio from the headphone jack and mix rig and pc audio into the Bose Companion 2-III speakers, so PC soundcard is free for other uses.
Now I need another clarification about "assuming you followed the UMA". What is UMA? I am sorry for the dumb question but I am new to EESDR world.

Hello Enzo - don't apologise hi. It was was me that was not clear. UMA = User Manual Addendum. When I post replies to questions that are without a list of all relevant settings, I go by the setup routines as described in this document which is available on here eesdr.com/en/products-en/transceivers-en/sunsdr2pro-en#documentation and it is the 4th item down.

VAC is set up per the example given so that VAC 1 = RX, VAC 2 =TX and so on. Of course, I have to make such a statement because I do not know what assignments you have made. You can of course make any that you want but you will see from the UMA, RX to any software is on VAC 1 and recording is on whatever VAC line you assign for it - VAC 7 in the UMA. These are not cast in stone!

I use OBS Studio. It's very simple. You record the audio and your screen. You can save in mp4, flv...
