Hello SunSDR2 QRP people

First at all having good experience with my SunSDR2 QRP in CW, it is simply great. Will try to join the RAEM contest on 23 December. (depends on family activtiy)

With this message I would like to inform you about SAQ transmission. The SunSDR QRP with it's good filters should be perfect to receive the signal. It can receive down to 17kHz, but with a LF converter the sensitivty will be better, I think. I use the low costs LF converter from www.funkamateur.de.

Even without special antenna I can receive now the MSF time signal at 60kHz and DCF 77 at 77.5 kHz very good, so I expect I will catch SAQ during Christmass transmission. I use my HyEnd Fed antenna for 40m/20m/10m catching LF signals as well.

When you have time 24th December, try to catch SAQ, they will be happy with your report. Below the details.

I visited last summer SAQ, very impressive radio station, and will make effort to catch the message on 24th December.

To test the RX system, you can use several LF signals, such as MSF60. The field strength of SAQ should be around 60dBuV @ 850km, going down fast when going deeper into Russia.It should be similar to MSF60.

In the morning of Christmas Eve, December 24, we will try to start the old Alexanderson 200 kW transmitter, from 1924 and send out a Christmas message on VLF 17.2 kHz CW. The transmitter will be tuned up from around 08:30 (07:30 UTC) and a message* will be transmitted at 09:00 (08:00 UTC).

Guests are welcome to attend the transmission at the radio station in Grimeton from 08:00 local time. The Alexander association will arrange Coffee and Christmas cookies, free of charge. No entrance fee.

For those of you who can not attend, we will broadcast the event live from Grimeton,Sweden on our YouTube Channel.

The SK6SAQ amateur radio station will be QRV on the following frequencies:
– 7.035 kHz CW or
– 14.035 kHz CW or
– 3.755 kHz SSB

Two stations will be on the air most of the time.
