Hello,
I tried to get my SunSDR Pro running with the RS version on my PC at my remote location. Due to several reasons it is not working. Now I tried to run the software through teamviewer, so that I can use the device at least this way. I was able to set up VAC in the way, that I can here the RX at my home location. But some how I am not able to get any modulation on the SunSDR when I try to transmit!?
is there anybody who is using teamviewer as well and could help me out?!

Karsten

Hi, Karsten.
I doubt anyone uses TW for remote operation since there is an ExpertRemote system.
What were your issues with ExpertRemote system?

Hi Rome,

so my biggest issue is, that I am using LTE at my remote location. so I have no static IP. I use an internet service to give me a fixed IP and a VPN connection. I was running remoterig with a IC756 and I had quite big latency during running via the internet service. So my idea was to skip the internetservice and run TW directly, hoping that I have lower latency?!
Do you think, running RS via my internet service / VPN will leed into lower latency?!
Maybe my approch is wrong, but I need the fixed Ip to run RS or not?!

Hi Karsten,

Not wishing to tread on Roman's toes but, if after all is said and done, you want to try the TeamViewer/Skype solution that several users have success with then let me know. First and foremost should be the ExpertRemote system so be sure to let Roman assist you before trying the alternative. I have the set up details if required.

Erik.

Hello Eric,

so if you have the TW setup, I would be greatful to test it. As I said, TX is running, I am just noch able to get my audio for TRX through to the SunSDR.

I will also try the RS, but to have the possibility to compare my latency I have to get both setups running! It is not that I love TW, but I just would like to give it a try!
I will need TW later anyway to see my wavenode and to switch some relays etc. at my remote location.

So thanks in advance!

Karsten

Hello Karsten,

You may have mis-read my reply. The procedure used by some (and not many because ExpertRemote is profoundly the best solution) utilizes Skype and the set up described is for that application. An Application Note is at www.dropbox.com/s/v8r1llvvd4e1tzt/ESDR2%20REMOTE%20OPERATION%20VIA%20TEAMVIEWER.zip?dl=0 . For comparison with Expert RS it could be interesting. Some users have difficulty with LTE and some also find the Skype server to be without the latency that occurs with their own ISP.

Hello Erik,

thanks a lot, I will try ist this evening right away. Maybe I already found my mistake, I put the VAC lines only into the VAC menue und never into the MIC menue.
So I am impatient to seen if ot works.

Nevertheless I hope to be able to just use TW without using Skype in addition. At least the RX quality what I was getting through the TW connection was already very good.
So I will try the TW setup and at the weekend I will try to set up Expert RC!

I let you know what are the results!

Thanks again!

Ok Karsten - if you have success with TeamViewer alone, please send me pictures of the relevant set up in TV. I have never been able to get it to work as well as it does in Skype so I am happy to hear about that way if you succeed. Please use This email address is being protected from spambots. Hello Erik,
so I was able to set up TV and it worked with a latency of about 1 sec. Not such a good audio quality!

No I installed yesterday the server and the client. I can run the server and I can connect the client too. But I was only once able to switch on the SunSDR with the power on button. Till then I can switch on the button, it turns red, but no waterfall or spectrum or anything?
The ping is about 80 ms!
What do I have to do, that I can connect seriously with the Sunsdr?!

Is anywhere discribed that it is only possible to use A3 in remote?! I had everything set up for A2 and searched quite a while, why I had no signal!
What us with 2m?! Or is just the setup running, that I last used at the station!?

Hello Karsten

Audio quality is perfect using Skype. No one has good success with TeamViewer audio and uses it only for video / station control.

Regarding the server and client, I recommend you email Roman at Expert Electronics directly. He will advise setup and also inform if update version is coming to correct the reported problems.

Erik.
