Hi there guys

I have been struggling for hours trying to understand what is wrong with the setup we run with a SunSDR2 Pro

Most recent Server (RS ) running on a WIn 7 PC Finding Radio allright
Port 5050 set up in WAN-router and port fortwarding allrigh
Can reach the radio(server) from the remote client (running most recent version

Radio starts alright remotely . Sometimes one needs to restart radio and RS

When doing a tune I get power output
First transmission with MOX gives power output SSB alright
Second transmission with mox shows input from mike, but no power output from transmitter

Looks like a SW bug to me

SSB output only given after a tune session

Besides this I have a feeling that the RS setup is not very robust as a solution fot the time being, hard to recomend to people to use.

Pls advice on progress of the RS setup.

We'll start to work on the Remote system right after the release of the ESDR2 1.3.0, thus in 3-4 weeks.
We plan to fix all knows bugs and make some small improvements (as fast as possible), then return to work on ESDR2 1.3.1.

Thank you so very much. That sounds great.
So what you are saying is that what Im outlining is a known bug ?? I cannot read the release notes for the remote client ( ver 1.3) as they are remove from your homepage.

What scares the hell out of me is that Im not able to reach out to my SunSDR2 Pro running the local client. Of course I have closed down the Server software on the server PC first.
The unit is reachable using ping
The client software ( 64 bit version or 32 bit version ) says "Cannot find SunSDR2".....

This is new to me. I have tried with another SunSDR2 Pro on another network with the same strange ( bad result).
As you can imagine, I wonder what is going on ;-)

Apparently I had a conflict of ports in the setup Im working on.

I had the software Anydesk installed on the PC...... And as this software is using port 50001 we have a conflict with the RS system.
So I have changed the port in the radio for communication with the RS to 50003.

No all is working fine here again !!!

It was Bjorn at Pilup DX that helped me actually, all cudos to him

That issue appeared several months ago with certain Windows update, I already forgot about it, sorry, I'm glad it solved now.

Yes, I did install Anydesk to support my dear friend. I have been using Teamviewer before....

Anyway I do look forward to work with the upcoming updates to the regular client and also the remote system. / tilman

Hi there

Now when running the most recent RS in a Win PC/server I can find that I need to restart it every other day to run remotely.
Seems that theserver app freezes and therefore the client cannot get to the radio (via server).

I go in remotely to the server-PC (using teamviewer or anydesk).

After killing the RS-process and restarting it, all seems to be working fine again for some time ( a day or so).

I have this running on two different sites with the same result. One site with WIN7 and one with Win10. No difference.

Have you identified this bug and are you working on a fix fro this ??

We'll be working on the remote software later this year, at the moment we are concentrated on the main ESDR2.

Im trying to market remoterunning the EXpert-product in my presentations and writing and would love to have some firm dates on when one could expect a more reliable solution.

As it sits right now the constant freeze of the server-app is note at all great.

Would you please comment on my findings ??

We'll take a closer look at the described issue after the final release of the ESDR2 1.3.0. Then we plan to discuss what exactly and when we'll be working on the ExpertRemote system. I'll inform you as soon as I have any information.

Sorry fro my late response.
I have now installed version 1.3.1 beta 1 of the client software and find it great. I take it that the "final release" of 1.3.0 now is released and that you are spending time on the enhancement of the Remote System.

I have had a roadshow ( 3 places ) where I have being pushing for your solution also for remote running. So looking forward to have a further enhanced setup to show and use to the crowds.
