Hi, Carsten.
At the moment ExpertTemote system allows you to use only one antenna connector, it cannot be switched.

Not possible to run your rig remotely and using VHF-module in radio.

When I was in hospital during the summer, I ran my MB1 on 2mtrs remotely. The reality is as Tilman says, except that it is not possible using the EE remote software. But it certainly is possible via other remote method.

With all due respect for EE team for their work on the software side, I don't understand why it is advertised this Remote part as this is not yet functional. Judging by the implemented features this sound more like an alpha or let's say a beta version of the software. I've tried a couple of times but it is so limited that for me is almost useless.
Luckily I have a very good internet connection so I'm running EE through internet for a couple of years now without major issues but I always hopped to use their remote software version. Let's hope the new software version will have all the promise features !

Hey aureliandan,
can you give some more information how you do the remote without the remote software from EE! I had the sunsdr pro two years ago and switched to flexradio, even I find the sunsdr nicer. But I have to work remote and the software at that stage was a pain. I do not know how it is now. But the best would be to run it via remote desktop or teamviewer, but I always had trouble with the audio. Do you have any advice?!

Thanks
karsten

Hi Karsten,

I don't use additional software to operate remote, I have a very good internet connection, same provider on both locations, fibre channel connection, 4-8ms latency, 200-300 Mbps upload speed so it is almost as in the local network. You have to open some ports and do some port forwording on your router and that is all. From my experience, if you have up to 10 ms latency you can work all modes without issues, above 10 ms you can still work some cw but no digital. didn't test for phone.

Hi Karsten

I had the same experience as you with the SunSDRpro. It was a nice rig
but impossible to use CW and audio via the Remoterig boxes because
the CW and audio connections in the transceiver was blocked when using
the SunSDR remote program. So I also had to change to Flex 6400 and now
I am transferring CW keying and audio via Remoterig boxes and all is
functioning fb. I hope the new program will solve this problem.

Did Flex ever fix the NO SIDETONE issue and the locking up or poor timing in CW?
if you have a good internet connection and do not know much about port forwarding and setting network to properly work on both ends you could try using remote program called Splashtop www.splashtop.com/ - I have several clients (run my own I/T shop) using SplashTop that came from TeamViewer
and several Ham clients who noticed much less latency and delay especially with audio using SplashTop for remote access- you could assign the VAC audio over the remote connection-

Might be worth a try-
