Hello Expert-Electronic-Team,

since I have a new Laptop (Dell XPS 15) with a screen resolution 3840 x 2160 it´s a pain to work with ExpertSDR2 v.1.1.2 for ColibriDDC because all becomes very, very small. Even with my sharp glasses it´s not possible to see the information on screen, even if I drop the resolution to 1920 x 1080.

I have some older software and I know the problem. BTW with some newer software like Microsoft Office an the new SDRConsole 3 from Simon Brown all is fine.

Maybe it has something to do with the version of the compiler that transforms the source code?

Many thanks in advance for a eventual solve in a future version of your software.

Just playing with ExpertSDR2_1.1.3_RC2_MB1 and the opening screen of MB1 looks very fine, even in very high solution!
Whatever the reason is, please put it in ExpertSDR2 v.1.1.2 for ColibriDDC too.

Oh sorry, it was only the first (MB1) opening screen. After the software haven´t found MB1-Hardware it switches to normal screen and all becomes again very, very small.

ExpertSDR2_1.1.3_RC2_MB1 working with Colibri :-)

- install ExpertSDR2_1.1.3_beta6_ColibriDDC_setup for ColibriDDC http://eesdr.com/en/forum-en/16-international-forum/6877-expertsdr2?start=15#8335
- install ExpertSDR2_1.1.3_RC2_MB1
- copy ColibriDDC.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\ExpertElectronics LLC\ExpertSDR2 ColibriDDC\device to C:\Program Files (x86)\ExpertElectronics LLC\ExpertSDR2 MB1\device
- start ExpertSDR2 MB1
- set ColibriDDC device: Option - Device

I tried it, but it doesn´t work. MB1 Software will not start anymore.

I found a own solution but it is only a workaround till you implement DPI aware in your software.

For all of you with similar problems try this (but be aware you are changing the registry of windows):

1. Press win+r
2. write "regedit" and click ENTER
3. go to HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion
3. Click on SideBySide
4a. if present on the right side "PreferExternalManifest" look if the dword is set to "1" otherwise change it to "1"
4b. if not present generate "PreferExternalManifest" for 32bit and set dword to "1"
5. Copy "ExpertSDR2.exe.manifest" to C:\Program Files (x86)\ExpertElectronics LLC\ExpertSDR2 ColibriDDC
6. Start the program an voilà ..... :yahoo:

So this workaround works, but windows is scaling the screen resolution and all becomes a bit unsharp. So I hope for a professional resolution from Expert Electronics for the near future.

Dear Uwe,

MB1 GUI will work correctly only with MB1 hardware.

At the present time ExpertSDR2 has a small view with high resolution monitors. Because the software was developed before 4k monitrs hit the market.
We are thinkig about it and will find solution in new versions of the software.

about 10 month later I allow me to ask, if there will be support for 4k displays? Still hope I could sometimes work in high resolution.
