TOPIC: Notchfilter needed ?

Notchfilter needed ? 06 Jan 2017 17:16 #1

Some time ago there were two or three proposals here to add a real notchfilter to ExperSDR2 RX software.
I think that in most cases of broadcast RX the auto notchfilter does not meet the desired reduction of a given noise insertion.
But if you use the Colibri ExtIO-DLL together with HDSDR (a new and improved version 2.75 has just been issued) you will find a really excellent multi notch filter with a graphical interface, easy to configure.
Up to ten notches can be set with simple mouse clicks at

visible noise peaks within the audio spectrum.
An additional mouse wheel action will set the notch width.
An AFC will lock the RX frequency for AM and ECSS demodulation automatically.
ECSS offers an undeminished and improved audio with the selection of just one sideband, while the other might be to noisy.
Once you have found and set the needed parameters ( which may take some time ) HDSDR can match.
(...and without switching from one 3125 kHz window to the next you can continiously scroll through the bands.)
Even the needed width for FM radioband is available.

Have a try!

Frank
