Rome, do you have an estimate of when the Mac OS version will be available for the Nano?

Hi Mike,
We do not plan to do that. Creating a macOS version of the ESDR2 for ColibriNANO is almost impossible since the receiver uses FTDI drivers for connection with a PC and these drivers are very hard to adapt to macOS.

Rome, I noticed today that NANO software for MAC OS is now available. I have installed it on my Mac mini (latest version OS) and trying it out now.

It was a pleasant surprise. Thanks!

Thanks as well - I am very happy too!
However, I have difficulties to turn ColibriNano "ON"! Software runs, ColibriNano is connected but nothing happens when I press the ON/OFF button in the software? Can you help on this?

Oreste,

I am running version 1.2.0 on my 2014 Mac mini using OS 10.13.4 and the NANO comes up and runs well until other activity happens on the machine and the the NANO waterfall gets "glitches or bright lines" in it. If they occur often enough the program quits.

If nothing else is going on the NANO runs fine but any other activity appears to "steal" the USB data stream away from the NANO. Even bringing up Safari will cause the problem as does the Time Machine starting a routine backup.

The software works but JUST BARELY :)

Rome, I just purchased a 2018 MacBook Pro with the 4 core I5 processor and SSD. The NANO software runs perfectly on this configuration.

The Mac mini was not useful for the NANO but the new 2018 MacBook Pro is perfect.

Hi, Mike.
I'm happy for you, and thanks for sharing this info, I think it might be useful to those who prefer macOS to Windows.

Almost a month has gone by and even though the 2018 MacBook Pro has been upgraded to Mojave the NANO is still performing flawlessly.

Thanks again Rome.

I am using high sierra in mac mini, on my windows machine my nano performs flawless on my mac it crashes all the time, this seems to be a major issue for mac users that need macs to run other software like macloggerdx so i am hoing they can find a permanant fix for this issue.. Here is a video I done for Roman on the problem, such a shame as i was really hoping to use it as vasily done with macloggerdx. If anyone knows a fixx let me know, i have been on zoom with their programmer and will try again soon but i think it is a case of accepting it just wil lnot work with mac well

Mac OS 24 Oct 2018 21:40 #12

i usually have it set on 192khz on windows but on the mac I think its on 96khz, i will try it but what is the reasoning behind changing that? would that make a difference and now you have mentioned it i will try it but when i was on with Roman and his programmer the other day, they could not find a cure for it as yet, they are doing research on it so hopefully one day in the future it will work. Vasily done it on on of his videos working well with macloggerdx so its strange how mine will not do it. Mind you it was not Vasily that done it and set it up it was his programmer that done that for him but I am on zoom soon with Roman and his programmer again soon to see if we can find a solution to it. I will try it later with the different sample rates tho and post below my findings, thanks for the idea, any advice is most appreciated. It will run at times no problem then all of a sudden it will just play up and go overload on me and the whole spectrum will do this jumping around and crash as u can see on the video. On my windows machine it runs superb but on windows I do not have macloggerdx which is a musts have for me, there has to be a solution to it all somewhere. We just got to find it. James G0SEC
