Just put a Comet GP-6 on the roof and set up some 2m repeater contacts. I am using EESDR 3
I did notice I am easily reeling in signals from all over Connecticut that I could never hear directly before.
I was trying to access a Repeater in Torrington CT. > 147.2400 +0.6 MHz 151.4 Torrington Litchfield W1RWC
This is what I did:
1. Tuned then set Drive to full.
2. Set RX (Downlink) to 147.2400
3. Set mode to NFM
4. Set CTCSS TX & RX 151.4
5. Selected RX/TX button in CTCSS window
6. Set offset to +0.6 MHz
7. Select the "RPTR" button
8. TX automatically set itself to 147.8400
When keying up and speaking I get a modulating waveform on the spectrum display.

Things I noticed:
With RX/TX selected in CTCSS window I hear nothing when I am sitting squarely on a signal in the waterfall.
If I shut off RX/TX and select only TX. I can hear the signal clearly.
I try to Transmit with RX/TX selected I get no reply. RX only No reply. TX only No reply.
Now it could be no on feels like answering. Can't be sure. But I tried this four other good signals.

Is there any known Issue with EESDR 3 and repeaters or am I doing something wrong that I am unaware of.

Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

Make sure the squelch slider is near the threshold.

Is that this thing in the attached picture? That isn't there in version 3.

N8SDR made a great video about using repeaters in ESDR3:

I looked up that repeater and it's using a different CTTS tone on RX according to the national repeater sight it uses a 77.00 on rx

take a look here: www.repeaterbook.com/repeaters/details.php?state_id=09&ID=56

Barkhamsted, CT
W1RWC
Repeater ID: 09-56

Downlink: 147.27000
Uplink: 147.87000
Offset: +0.600 MHz
Uplink Tone: 151.4
Downlink Tone: 77.0
County: Litchfield
Call: W1RWC

Crap my bad I looked at the wrong one sorry:

Your settings are correct
www.repeaterbook.com/repeaters/details.php?state_id=09&ID=54

Look on the bar graph s meter not the POP out meter

There should be a Yellow LINE you can drag that yellow line to the left that is how you adjust the squelch threshold
Perhaps that yellow line is set higher than the repeater signal which would be why you don't hear it

I dropped the ball on this one for a while as I got bored of :wall:
Based on my previous posts in this section, I'm still having trouble hearing or sending on VHF.
My rig is still set up as shown in previous posts. Under CTCSS if I turn TX and RX off I can hear transmissions fine. If I turn TX and RX on the received audio is all choppy even though I have the squelch level well below the incoming audio signal level. I'd really like to figure out whats up. If you need to ask specific questions to help me figure this out, ask away I'dd do my best to answer.

The repeater is in my town, I'm at the top of the hill, and I have a base antenna. I don't think its a signal issue.
I may be missing something simple, but I've gone over everything above and I get the same result.
In the CTCSS settings:
With the squelch slider all the way at minimum.
TX OFF / RX OFF - I can hear the transmission perfectly.
TX ON / RX OFF - Still sounds fine (of course).
TX OFF / RX ON - The incoming audio still breaks up.
With those above all off and I click the TX/RX button ON - It breaks up. (I imagine this button just turns them both on or both off with one click)

If the transmitting repeater wasn't using CTCSS on their transmit and I turned CTCSS RX ON then wouldn't I hear nothing at all?

Do you have a chance to check the CTCSS operation with a handheld radio?
We think that transmitting tone of the repeater does not align with the one you set in ESDR3 or differs for a couple of Hz.
If the tone does not align, then you may hear a broken signal via repeater.

There is definitely something wrong with CTCSS on RX. With a known strong local station with PL tones and offset set correctly, when you enable CTCSS on RX the signal cuts in and out similar to the effect if the operator set the squelch too high. Other than that it seems to work on TX but would suggest your software team go back over both CTCSS RX and TX to make sure all parameters are correct in eSDR3.

It is very important that the 2M function of the radio works correctly as having HF 6M and 2M in one unit is one of the big features that sets EE apart from the competition.

Also please bring back the “All Mode Squelch” like in prior versions of eSDR3.

Yep, something wrong with the RX and maybe TX. I actually contacted someone with RX (off) and TX (on). The other party said that they heard me very loud and clear but my audio would occasionally break up. I heard myself come though my hand held and I thought I heard it break up but was hard to tell. But the other party corroborated it. I can tell you my audio is not breaking up on any other band. There's something going on with the CTCSS.

OH and on that other note. PLEASE BRING BACK ALL MODE SQUELCH. For those of us in high noise areas it really makes listening more pleasant.

Had to re-verify the transmit. Transmitting with TX (on) seems fine, in fact someone came back during a Net to tell me how good my audio was (on a repeater no less). RX... Same issue.
P.S. Don't forget the all mode squelch. :)
