Hello,

I have 2 different PC's - the one I used to create / modify the tx-profile is a i5 laptop with Nvidia dedicated graphics.

On this laptop everything works fine - I have good audio modulation and on 40M into dummy load can peak 100W when modulating with my voice via the headset used in my profile.

The audio quality is superb!

The headset is 'plugged-into' the front pannel phones / microphone sockets of the sunsdr2dx - so it is not subjected to the PC's audio hardware which might be different.

In the expertSDR2 software (version 1.3.1 Update 8) I select Microphone1 and as stated above everything works OK.

I also have another PCs which is specificaly to be used with the sunsdr2dx.

This is a i7 laptop with 16GB memory and uses a i7-1065G7 CPU - this has integrated Intel graphics - its got lots of processing power (much more than the i5) so is my prefered choice to be used with the sunsdr2dx's expertSDR2 software.

Both Laptops have Windows 10

I installed the expertSDR2 software on this laptop (the i7).

Everything is OK and when I connect to the sunsdr2dx - all works well and I have total interface control.

I then load the SAME identical profile for the headset as used in the i5 laptop with Nvidia dedicated graphics.

REMEMBER - the headset is NOT USING any of the respective laptop's integrated audio - because the headset is plugged-into the sunsdr2dx's phones / microphone sockets and Microphone 1 is used in the expertSDR2 settings.

My understanding is that the audio input levels will NOT be influenced by the respective PCs - and should behave identically because the headset is plugged into the sunsdr2dx directly and Microphone 1 setting are used in the expertSDR2 software.

The problem is that despite using the same profile for the headset - I cannot get the i7 laptop with intel built-in graphics to work properly - no matter how I 'tune' the tx-parametrics - I cannot get more than 40W output.

There definately is something wrong as I would have expected the same profile (because microphone is plugged into sunsdr2dx directly) to produce the same output - when using the SAME software.

The only difference here is the PC

I have also made identical test with a PC (not laptop) also using a Intel i3-8100 processor which has intel built-in graphics.

I get identical result on the i3 PC to the i7 laptop - unable to reproduce 100W drive - maximum power is about 40W

The i5 laptop with Nvidia graphics is ONLY device which works OK and provides full 100W drive capability.

The only huge difference between all of the PC's is that the PC which works OK has dedicated graphics (Nvidia) and not built-in intel graphics.

I cannot see why the SAME profile - especially when headset / microphone is plugged into the sunsdr2dx directly does not work on the other PC's??

Despite each computer being different - the expertSDR2 sowtware runs on the same operating system so should exhibit same behaviour?

The only correlation I can see is that the PC's with Intel buit-in graphics dont work with the 100% functioning proffile that works only on the laptop with Nvidia dedicated graphics.

I know from other users of expertSDR2 and sunsdr2dx - that dedicated graphics have no effect oh how the tx-paramertics should work - so am totally puzzled as to why I am experiancing this behaviour?

There is always something to be learned - when one answers their own post!

Despite having such a complex problem - there always is a simple answer.

The mistake I have made is set the 'Indicators' parameter to display RMS power which will always be 1/SQRROOT(2) the PEAK power - so naturally I was unable to get the 100W as expected.

My I5 Laptop had the PEAK indicator setting so displayed the expected results

However - I totally forgot to change the Power meter settings in the other 2 PCs :wall:

Options > Disply > Indicators > Power meter: Peak

Hope my mistake and head banging against wall will help someone else who forgets to do the same.
