Good Afternoon all,

I have question. I have set 20W power output, but SunSDR2 PRO giving me only something like 16,5W like on FM so by TUNE.
I try 2 different power supply (both with 14.8-15V output) and situation is same.
Is it some mistake on my side or is it feature and it is not possible to do nothing with it?

Thank you for answer

Hi, Jan.
How do you measure output power? With internal or external power meter?
Please clarify you have 16.5W in TUNE or in FM?

Hello Roman,

I measured it by external power meter, but I have to say that it showing same value like internal power meter in SW.
I have 16,5W in both cases - in TUNE and also in FM.

Thank you for your reply

Hi, Jan.
On what bands? Or on a certain band?

I think I also encountered the same situation as the topic starter. After accessing the fake load test, the output of almost each band can only reach a maximum of about 16W, and the 10-meter band is at 12W, which cannot reach the 20W stated by the index.

Hi

Are you both using 15V to power the SunSDR2 Pro? I have no problem at all getting solid 20W out on most bands (TUNE/FM) but get around 17W out if I lower the voltage to 13.8V

Also make sure that your power supply does not "sag" under load and that your SWR is 1.1

Thanks

Nicholas

Hi,Nicholas
I use a power adapter with an output of 15V / 8A, the output voltage drop is very small, only about 0.3V, I don't know why it can't reach 20W output.

Testing output power version 1.3.1 up3 in ssb does not exceed 5 to 7 w with an external meter. With version 1.2.0 the power is 8 to 15 or more. There is a lot of difference to excite linear amplifier.

It’s has been always like this.
When have new software will have agc on.
And you will not get full power.
Also the ssb settings are very criticals. Easy to go on distortion to get full power.

With good audio settings i’m never able to get more then 12/15w . Since the beginningz
Also have tryed many microphones

Good evening,

Here are some screenshots from wekend playing with transveicer.

I was active in FT8 Roundup, so I used SunSDR2. But unfortunately issue is still here how you can see on picture.

Where can be a problem? Power is set properly like you can see on picture 2, SWR also, nearly 15V Input,.... I don't know
