Hi all,

I received my SunSDR2 qrp earlyer this week and connected it without any problem to my MacBook Pro
After getting familiar with the software i did some comparisons with my other radio’s in use and i have a question
on the BPF and ATT settings.
If for example on 20 meters a signal close to S9 comes up about 100khz away from where i am listening
i notice the noise level rising.
Switching the ATT in does not have much of an effect.
Is there something that I don’t see here?

Hi, Dirk.
Please disable the NB and check the noise level.
If it's OK, take a look at the note about NB operation in the UM - eesdr.com/images/Document/SunSDR2_QRP/SunSDR2_QRP_User_Manual_ENG.pdf, page 50.

Switch off the noiseblanker or decrease the level of noiseblanker. This might be the problem.

Hello,

Thank you very much for this info!
The NB was indeed responsible for this wide spread noise.
When i switched it off the noise floor stayed the same across the whole band.
I will try to battle pulse noise from electric fences in my vicinity with NB engaged but
with different DSP settings then the standard 2,65 for NB1
Still impressed by the performance of this very nice build transceiver!

Dirk
