Hi all,

I have a problem with Voice Keyer in configuration with Win-Test and VAC. When recording and playing back the memory for the voice keyer, a crack will sound at the beginning. I looked at the file too in Audiacity but it's clean. I also tried DXLog and the result is the same. Does anyone have this same experience? How to solve it?

Thank you

Regards

The video is where though, Richard? Also perhaps better would be an audio file to better know the exact flaw in the modulation during the DVK execution.

Here is a possible reason. There are probably many possibilities but worth checking.

When making a DVK recording, it is entirely possible that there is some click or crack in the header, right at the beginning. When playing back through Audacity there is no AGC and it may not be apparent. But from the radio it is like this recording, seen in the ESDR2 Analyser:

mod1.png

Note the bit at the beginning which, when transmitted, is a loud crack.

Now the recording with it removed:

When transmitted the start is only the voice and the crack has gone because header has been trimmed (using Audacity) to within 100ms of the modulation starting.

This may not be the reason in your case. I mention it because it is a common mistake not to take out the header and the tail when loading a DVK.

Hi,

nothing helps, tried to edit the file putting blank (no audio) 1s part in the begenning. Tried other files from the past...btw, this CQ contest is about 5 years old...still used in all contests.

But I found the solution...

Just extended PTT switchng delay from 20ms to 200ms...and it helps...
