Hi Paul
Thanks for your comments. Well I downloaded that version a few weeks ago and today I saw the warning in the 16 September news update not to use the latest version. Are there other versions between my 0.8.1 and the newest version that it is recommended not to use ? Or are you using the newest version anyway ? With the limited facilities available with 0.8.1 there appears to be no way of upgrading it from within and I guess I will just have to down load and install the newest version. Your further comments and advice would be appreciated. Thanks Barry VK2BJ

Hi Barry....or should I say g'day ;-)
Well, I'm using 0.9.0 without any problems whatsoever. I noticed that my SunSDR2DX firmware version is 65.8 anyway..and I have not been prompted to upgrade it.
The note on the home page does say that you can use 0.9.0...and refuse a firmware upgrade to 67.8 if one is offered. If I was in your shoes, I think that is what I would do.
BTW, I can't remember the last time I used Version 2 software.
Another option, would be to wait for the next Alpha release...hopefully only a week or two away???
Cheers

OK things move on. I have now installed the latest version of SDR3 and it is running OK. I also have auto band change with my amplifier working fine. The CW keying is far better than SDR2 with no shortening of the first character using an external keyer.
At the moment, whist my E-Coder Plus tunes, it will not do anything else and there seems to be no facility yet in SDR3 for programming it. Likewise, there is not yet any CAT facility to connect to my logging program like I can with SDR2.

Has the link for SDR3 been removed?
I have loaded a test machine with Win11 and when I go to Software/ExpertSDR3 the buttons for all 3 versions don't work.
The server buttons still work though
Could it be the Final version is imminent ?

Same observation here.
I would not dare think of the final version yet, but maybe a new 0.9.x version with some more things to play with, and a new, fixed firmware.
Let us be patient...

For two days now, I'm running Windows 11 on my productive machine and haven't experienced any problems with ESDR2 and ESDR3 yet.

Why wait if they can release the final version now? If the software and hardware really does well on the performance, the reviews and word of mouth will help the company with the sales of their products.

I was told by them that the new firmware to support V3 will not support V2
