Hi,

I've just downloaded and installed version 1.2 beta 2.
I encounter too many problem to use it directly with my MB-1.
In fact MB-1 style GUI is totally corrupted, it simply doesn't work. In fact there is too many bugs to make a complete detailed list. For example, the frequency isn't correctly displayed and it doesn't change when I turn the VFO, the S-meter is static and doesn't display the signal as it should. To resume the situation many items on the MB-1 style GUI are not displayed they stay static.
In another hand, some buttons on MB-1 front panel such as NB1, NB2 apparently don't work.
In these conditions version 1.2 beta is not usable for me.
If I remote my MB1 from my computer in my desk room with the desktop GUI of 1.2 beta 2 everything seem to me OK for the moment I've not tried everything yet.
I don't know if these problems are relative to my own MB-1 or if it is more general.

I had problems with Beta2 and my MB1. The download file was initially slightly corrupted. You could try downloading again - since 17:00 UTC it is downloading fully.

The instructions say not to bother uninstalling old version but not doing so gave me many problems. So I uninstalled, keeping options.ini to preserve all settings. Then I installed Beta2 again. This time it is ok with my MB1. So you could try that to see if it helps.

I've downloaded version 1.2 beta 2 again and I still get problems.

In fact it appears to be a display problem.
First of all I must mention, that I'm using a Samsung 22" LCD HDMI screen.
For commodity this screen is set as main screen but if I invert the roles MB-1 screen as main screen and Samsung as secondary, the problem is remaining the same.

Now what I've found, each time i'm starting the MB-1 I get the problems I mentioned in my previous message.
To resolve it I just have to quit the full screen mode of the GUI (desktop or MB-1 style) and enable it again.
As English is not my native language, i'm not sure I'm explaining the situation very well.

I have received an email from a MB1 user with same problem as you :( . It is strange because it is ok here after complete uninstall/reinstall but obviously there is a display problem. You have explained it well, so we should let Roman read this and follow up with his questions and corrective measures.

Try the following:

Uninstall ESDR2 Beta2. Also uninstall all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (In Windows 10 Settings>Apps)
Reboot.
Run Microsoft Windows Update with the option set "Give me updates for other MS products" (it is in Advanced Options) and install all downloads.
Reboot.
Run ESDR2 Beta2 install file and allow any install of MS products - this time the display problem was fixed for other MB1 user and so I hope it will be fixed for you too.

The Beta 2 works ok for me after installation. Only bug I have seen so far (operating JT65 on 6m) is that the power needle on
the "internal" power meter disappears when transmitting. SWR is fine, and power reading in numbers is also ok.

As you all probably have noticed before, the last digit on the power scale is too far to the right and cut in half. But this is just a cosmetic issue, been like this a long time.

Thanks a lot for your advise Erik,
I've entirely uninstalled completely and reinstalled ExpertSDR2 1.2 beta 2 many times but I've not uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
I will try tomorrow if I get the time.

It doesn't work for me.

I've even tried to make a very deep uninstalling of ExpertSDR2 1.2 beta 2 and everything related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable with Revo uninstaller (everything even registry), I have deleted my profile in, user/MB1 and I still get the same problem. :(

Finally I've found what's wrong.

To not get this problem in Options -> Display -> Main window, "ExpertSDR2 always on top" must be cheeked.
If it is not checked the problems I've mentioned occur at ExpertSDR2 start.

Can this version be installed to a new location as to not mess with the older version for trial purposes and create a fresh install?

Hi,

I don't really know but I've noticed that the installation folder of this beta version is not the same as usual.
Prior versions were installed in Program files(x86)\ExpertElectronics LLC\ExpertSDR2 MB1 and this beta version is installed in Program files(x86)\ExpertElectronics\ExpertSDR2 MB1.

I don't know if it's a voluntary change from the Expert Electronics team.

Hi, everyone,
1) The display issue is most probably related to the latest SW transfer to the Qt5. We are working on it.
2) ESDR2 installation folder was intentionally changed, again, because of the SW transfer to the Qt5.
