Martin - ensure you have the latest MB1 User Manual. It is version 1.2.0 and is on the MB1 download page.

Follow my instructions for the cluster server below and see if it works:

Attachment cluster_2017-12-05.png not found

In the 'Server:' field enter the cluster address:port ..... example: cluster.dl9gtb.de:7309
In the 'Callsign:' field enter your own callsign.
Have Enable set (ticked) and press Add. Your entry should go to the cluster server list section and a connect should be made if the address is valid.

Good morning Erik,
If I click on any field on this page, the software then stops responding.
I need to log off after alt ctrl del.. to regain control.
On trying to enter any data or indeed, try to enter any box and the MB-1 sounds a bong!
By the sound of it, you dont have the problem...
I wonder whether its the mouse driver... will try a wired mouse.
I think we have established its not the software as you dont have the problem.

Hi again,
Have removed all dongles for mice/ keyboard and used Microsoft 5 button wired mouse.
I managed to get the cursor in the server field before the dreaded “bong”
Then not able to drop out of the spot setting window.
As before

Ok Martin, sorry you have a problem. Please do email Roman directly (though I know he has seen your posts). Bug reports on here are very useful for other users but only direct emails to Roman help in program development. It is true I do not have the issue that you have. Nevertheless you have it so should report it. Do try some other things for example re-installing RC2 (your settings will be retained). I am always available for a Team Viewer session by direct email to me as are Vasily and Roman if you need their help. You have a superb radio and no-one wants you to have problems with it.

Hi Erik,
Have actually found the problem... fault occurs whenever a dialogue box is open...
Thats what the “bong” is !
Problem was that i have the software set to always ontop... you then never get to see the dialogue box is waiting for input.
Even if you alt tab to the dialogue box, it still doesnt show..
Turning of the always ontop solves problem
Phew... thanks to Gary at ML&S for pointing me to a dialogue box open..

Hello Martin, thanks for letting us know - someone else will surely run into the same situation so now we have the info. I'm glad it is sorted. You can get on and enjoy the radio.

Merry Christmas,

Erik.

Hi All,
I have the following observations..
Some seem like incomplete software or bugs.
Be interested in your comments, observations.
1). On memory selection, frequency should be in the centre of the screen.
Its not helpful to have to scroll of to find it..
2). Multi-3 controll seems much too touchy on RIT setting..
A bit finer control would be useful.
3). Width and shift interact.. shift should not move when width is adjusted.
This has been mentioned before but still isn't sorted.
4). I also see the 700hz lack of audio when CW selected.
I use 650hz so not a problem. But it is a bug.

3. Re the Filter Width control. Try first clicking on the "edge" of the filter (mine then has a white line) with your left mouse button. Then try it again but clicking with your right mouse button. The right button alters the filter width equally on either side. The left button controls just one side of the filter. If you first click on the filter edge, the passband does not shift.
4. 700hz CW pitch. No problem observed here.

Hi Guys
Got just few days ago MB1 and changed local In Finnish+ updated windows to latest version.
Now function buttons doesnt appear on sdr2 v 1,2 latest version, and dont know how to get them back
Installed same program to my home computer which have same windows(Pro64x), and there those are!?

Next problem is, how to get mu SPE1.3 linear to work, because cant activate PTT1, which shoud ground PTT1
(measured with ohm meter that radio doest ground center pin in PTT1) when transmitting with radio.

Third problem is that radio FAN start soon in transmit state and continue runing minutes even temperature is very low.
Antennas are low SWR less 1.2, so no problem with them
Last question is,, is it good idea to change computer processot to faster one to get startup faster?

Thanks in advance

Hello Arno,

Working backwards through your questions.

Upgrading the processor, which I have done here, does not improve start up time. I felt it necessary because my CPU % was very high with all the software/hardware I run on the MB1 (CW Skimmer x2, Monitors x 3, etc.) But now that EE have released ESDR2 in 64bit format, CPU % is much less and the imperative to upgrade no longer exists. After you install and run all the software that you want, make a check of CPU % in Task Manager and if it is less than 80%, you can be assured there is no benefit to upgrading. Details about this, should you still want to make the upgrade, are in the User Manual Addendum.

FAN operation is either automatic by default or by manual user over-ride. Ensure that the MB1 Utility is running (it should start with the computer). In that application you can check to see if the FAN is on auto or manual. As far as I am aware, auto works perfectly for everyone - at least i have not heard of any issues.

In ESDR2, ensure PTT is enabled in Options>Device>PA Tab. Then use a simple 2 wire phono to phono cable unless you are wiring into the same SPE socket as CAT, in which case check the SPE User Manual for the correct pin.

Now lastly, your first question: I have dealt with a a number of MB1 owners of various nationalities and languages and this problem has occurred before. I do not know the definitive answer but I recall a MB1 owner finding that there was no issue if Windows language was set before the installation of ESDR2. So if you had ESDR2 installed and then changed the language, you could give that a try. Roman at EE, in reading this, may have better advice for you. Any help you need, please do email him directly.

Regards, Erik.

Hello Arno,

I changed the Windows language on my MB1 and I had no problems, because it's just the language mask, because the software is not affected, I think so.
I'm not 100% in English HI

Hi Erik
Notised that language doesnt affect software, just small problem occurred after update,, on upper side some knobs are half invisible
and alc doesnt work for linear, but will be fixed after release sdr 2.12
HiddenknobsMB1.png

got all other funtions to work so far.
Tested bios changing os system to Win8/10 from it and lost display on MB1  ,,
Got it back after added external display and changed it back to Win7 :D
Fan is now manually changed to quiet and that is ok for me
there was opening on 50Mhz ad that was food excersise to check stations with mouse click,, very good feature!
